Monograms are purported to be that of Isaac Appleton (1709-1769) and his son, Rev. Joseph Appleton (1751-1795) of Ipswich and N. Brookfield, Massachusetts. Four antique, paper labeled blown bottles with cork stoppers. First item carries a partial maker label that reads, "PARAFFINE OIL Manufactured from The finest Paraffin and SPERM OIL, FOR SEWING MACHINES MASON WHITING & CO. 102 NORTH STREET BOSTON." Second bottle carries a brown paper label with red border and handwritten script, "300 Mineral Sperm." Last two items carry testing labels. One is marked "300 Mineral Sperm", the other contains a yellow liquid, marked with indiscernible text and the word "Lard." Bottles measure 6" in length.
