高三冲刺及激励课程
一眨眼已来到2022年8月份，距离毕业考及统考亦到 了倒数阶段。在这关键时刻，考生备考情绪的酝酿 以及考试氛围的营造，都有利于学生积极准备，以 迎接人生中最重要的考试。因此，本校教务处从8月1 日起举办多场备考及激励课程。如8月1日，由王楨文 校长主讲的《学海无涯，奔程有梦》激励讲座，让 学生厘清理想、梦想及幻想的差异，学会认清目 标，制定方案以达成目标及实现理想人生。
8月17日，本校教务处特邀本地著名咨商心理师-林明 申讲师为本校在籍高三同学进行一场《备考心态决 定考试心态》激励讲座。林明申讲师深入浅出的让 学生了解到备考时会面对的问题。比如当学生长时 间备考后，如有发现复习进度变慢、精神匮乏、身心 疲惫，那就是面对了瓶颈，心理学称之为“学习高原 现象”。林讲师亦传授方法以解决高原现象，例如暂 停学习，先去运动或者休息，让精神恢复后，才继续 备考。此外，林讲师还告诉同学，当一个人感觉到承 受很大压力时，且相信压力是有害的人，死亡风险比 其他人增加了43%。林讲师说压力是主观的，并要同 学们化解压力，把压力转变成动力。最后，林讲师还 分享了一些备考方法，例如“把文字图像化，因为大 脑喜欢问题和视觉”、“每日定时学习胜过熬夜”以 及“最佳的学习方法就是教会别人”。
接下来，王美贞副校长以及谢采杏教务处主任，分别 给高三学生主讲两场激励讲座，主题为《设计自 己的人生》与《我的未来是“懵”还是“梦”》。另外 还有我校各科任老师，给高三学生准备的高三备考 冲刺课程。希望我校高三同学，能在这些讲座及 课程中收获满满，并在毕业考及统考中考出自我 风采，实现自己的梦想。
在美好的中秋佳节时分，日新独中班联会带动全 校各个班级，共准备了180份月饼及太阳饼，诚意 满满地赠送于全校教职员，并祝福全体教职员， 月圆人团圆，阖家团聚庆中秋，中秋佳节快乐！

《时代感怀》首办历史周
为了提高学生对历史科目的兴趣与认识。本校首次举办了第一届 历史周《时代感怀》。此活动由历史科主催，并由高一和高二文商 班的同学主办。历史周接下来将会有一系列的活动，包括了历史 讲座，历史常识比赛及历史辩论比赛。
王楨文校长在开幕仪式提及，中国历史发展同时强调了中国历史 的重要性，学生工委们积极筹办历史周系列活动，让更多师生有 机会了解中国历史。此外，王美贞副校长说历史教育可以帮助大 家了解复杂的社会变化，让我们能够用不同的眼光来看待问题， 并做出最合适的行动，时刻反省自己。钟镒伸副校长不忘表扬 历史周工委们，尽管在这段时间大部分工委确诊，但他们不畏困 难，勇于面对难题的精神让人感动。最后，在校长完成工委们准 备的历史拼图之下，为本校首办历史周正式拉开序幕！
(13-14 August) The Everlasting Online English Camp 2022, organised by the English Language Centre, was successfully held from the 13th to the 14th of August. This camp aims to ignite creativity within students, encourage team-building among them as well as let students learn and improve their English through fun activities.
During the closing ceremony, our school beloved principal, Mr Ong Chang Boon applauded students for their enthusiasm in learning English. Furthermore, he also encouraged participants to continuously venture into the different aspects and capture the beauty of the language. Aside from that, he expressed his sincere appreciation to the teachers and the student committees for their contribution and hard work.
Participants of “Everlasting” were from different schools, grades and language backgrounds. Once again, this camp has broken its previous record, with a whopping_121_participants in total. Among these participants, __120__of them were from our school, while __2_participants were from schools around Malaysia. Many exciting activities were carried out during the two-day period of this camp, including ice breaking, team-building activities and treasure hunt. The treasure hunt was a multi-platformed brainstorming puzzle game, in which participants had to use Google Docs, Discord and Puzzel.org in order to reach the finish line. With that, the Online English Camp 2022 ended with a huge success.
