About me

I am a passionate landscape designer with over 6 years of experience. Having worked in multiple offices, I have gained an extensive experience collaborating with diverse teams and have worked across all project stages, primarily in Hong Kong, China, and the wider Southeast Asian region. My portfolio includes a wide array of projects in both the public and private sectors, including commercial, residential, hospitality, educational campuses, healthcare, public parks, and masterplanning.

Originally from Hong Kong, I relocated to the UK to pursue a postgraduate degree in Landscape Architecture, which I expect to complete by September 2024. I am eager to continue my career as a Landscape Architect upon graduation.

Winner- Building of the year award 2023 - Archdaily

In collaboration with PWP Landscape Architects (USA) and MAD Architects (Beijing) our role as an executive Landscape Architect in this project is responsible for design development and construction delivery. The project presents a new vision on how landscape and architecture is integrated. The stunning mounds which are in fact recreational buildings seamlessly flow into the landscape as if the park was something that is “extraterrestrial” and “surreal” .

MISCELLANEOUS- RESEARCH INTERESTS

Landscape performance modelling using Rhino and Grasshopper

My interest in computational modelling can be really valuable with some projects now requiring some type of landscape metric goals. Recent literature have demonstrated that certain landscape performance metrics such as tree benefits (carbon sequestration & energy saving), stormwater management & outdoor thermal comfortabilty can be easily calculated during the design process. Computational modelling can be utilized to recieve immediate feedback of such metrics when the design is changed, making the process more intuitive. Moreover, different design options can be presented supported by quantitative evidence rapidly.

For example, my skills can be valuable if there are projects that aims for an environmental certifcation such as LEED AP or SITE CP.

The possibility of BNG (Biodiversity NetGain) Modelling

With BNG as new statuory requirement, I believe this can be translated into a script where model will produce BNG metric results. When the design is iterated the model will provide an immediate feedback, saving a lot of time doing manual calculations. Thefore, the process will become more intuitive and different options can be produced in a short amount of time supported with BNG metrics.

MISCELLANEOUS- OTHER RELEVANT EXPERIENCES

Apart from actual landscape practice, I have been invited to conduct Rhino/Grasshopper workshops to landscape architecture students in Hong Kong and to my fellow colleagues in offices all over China with Earthasia. Having done that, I have been awarded a certificate of appreciation by the Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects.

I have also taught as a part time tutor in the digital design course in the BA of Landscape Architecture program in my alma matter (Thei).
