Until living here, I didn’t know Jim Thorpe was known to be haunted with ghosts and spirits often reported by a wide range of people visiting here – many who have never had a belief in the spirit world. That is a snippit of why I fell in love with Jim Thorpe.

I am a Midwestern girl at heart. I grew up in Indiana with a Mom who was a public school teacher and a Dad who was a bombardier in WWII. Stationed in London, he was the sole surviving member of his squadron. Upon his return from Europe, struggling to adjust and find work, he eventually became moderately successful in his own real estate company. I considered him a big fish in a small pond. im Thorpe Bed & Breakfasts are adopting new policies to enhance already rigorous cleaning protocols in light of COVID-19. While B&B’s already provide safer lodgings due to increased cleanliness and diminished crowds, local inns are now offering sanitation procedures and food service modifications as intentionally individualized as their unique buildings and histories. In addition to meticulously conforming to all federal, state, and local directives, many innkeepers have adopted “The Bed & Breakfast Inns Promise” (www.painns.com/promise) to protect the safety of their guests, ensuring scrupulous sterilization practices and the conscientious serving of breakfast. Various inns will also be offering contactless payment and check-in, limited table capacity, and flexible refund policies. “We’re always delighted when our guests fall in love with Jim Thorpe the way we have,” said Diane Prokop, co-owner of Times House Bed & Breakfast. “Given all the extra emphasis we are placing on COVID-19 safeguards, it’s still easy to fall in love here, with the place and each other, treasuring memories for years to come.” The Dolon House can provide a stunning backdrop to a romantic getaway weekend.
