ctober – What a perfect theme “Falling in Love with Jim Thorpe”. Because October for many in our Jim Thorpe hamlet is our favorite month – the leaves are turning AND it is the witching hour of all Hallows Eve that is upon us. Until living here, I didn’t know Jim Thorpe was known to be haunted with ghosts and spirits often reported by a wide range of people visiting here – many who have never had a belief in the spirit world. That is a snippit of why I fell in love with Jim Thorpe.

Because the region spans 2,400 square miles, three distinct color zones are present allowing you to catch peak colors not only once, but three times. Northern: The northernmost color zones encompass northern Wayne and Pike Counties. Some of the Red and Sugar Maples have started to change early displaying bright right and dull yellow. I am a Midwestern girl at heart. I grew up in Indiana with a Mom who was a public school teacher and a Dad who was a bombardier in WWII. Stationed in London, he was the sole surviving member of his squadron.
