The Bourne CiCLE Festival’s inaugural year is 2019.

This is a two-day festival of cycling based in and around the Lincolnshire market town of Bourne. A town with a remarkable heritage of motor racing, having been home to world beating British Racing Motors and English Racing Automobiles, Bourne's focus in 2019 moves on to two wheels.

With a programme of professional long distance racing, a Women’s Team Time Trial and a Sportive, a truly spectacular weekend of cycling is on offer.

The event is promoted by South Kesteven District Council and InvestSK with the support of Professional race organisers Brian Moran, Race Director and Colin Clews, Race Adviser. Colin brings the magic of the Classic Belgian race established in his highly acclaimed Melton Classic series. The Men’s and Women’s classic is set to attract some of the UK’s most successful teams and riders as well as many of the rising stars in the sport.

The start and finish of the race programme is in West Street in the heart of Bourne. Throughout the weekend there will be a multitude of cycling activities, displays and demonstrations taking place in the town centre and on the large Wellhead Park.

The festival offers a great range of sponsorship opportunities for local businesses to promote themselves to a wide audience, support outstanding world class sport and be part of an event promoting young champions of the future.

Held over the weekend of Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September for the first time in 2019. The Bourne CiCLE Festival embraces a wide range of cycling related events, from an ‘all comers’ Sportive ride over varying distances up to Elite level races for Britain’s best Professional Men’s and Women’s road racing cyclists.

To be held on the afternoon of Saturday 31st August and centred in the heart of Bourne, where it will start and finish and also pass through the town several times on its challenging 114 km route. It is expected that it will be contested by approximately 120 of the UK’s top Women’s cyclists, and watched from the roadside by several thousands of spectators.

To be held on Sunday 1st September and centred in the heart of Bourne, where it will start and finish and also pass through the town several times on its challenging 174 km route around the twists and turns and challenging route thrown up by the beautiful South Kesteven countryside. It is expected that it will be contested by approximately 140 of the UK’s top Men’s cyclists, and watched from the roadside by several thousands of spectators.

‘Bourne Ultimatum Sportive rides’

To be held on Saturday 31st August, the ‘Bourne Ultimatum Sportive rides’ will present an opportunity for cyclists of all types, novice to experienced, young and old, to savour the delights of group cycling in a controlled environment through the beautiful South Kesteven countryside taking in many of the roads that the Professional riders will race along.

‘Women’s Team Time Trial’

Taking place on Sunday 1st September, after a long, hard racing season, the UK's top Women's cycle race team will be crowned in Bourne. With the final race of this long standing competition the winning team will speed into Bourne at the end of this tough team time trial safe in the knowledge that they are the number one team in the country.
