Novel Coronavirus Glass Sclupture

Inter nationally- renowned ar tist Luke Jer r am has created a coronavir us - COVID- 19 - glass sculpture in tr ibute to the huge global scientific and medical effor t to combat the pandemic. Made in glass, at 23cm in diameter, it is 2 million times lar ger than the actual vir us.

It was commissioned 8 weeks ago, before the spread of the vir us was a pandemic, by a univer sity in Amer ica to reflect its cur rent and future research, and its focus on solving global challenges.

Luke says: ?This ar twork is a tr ibute to the scientists and medical teams who are working collabor atively across the world to tr y to slow the spread of the vir us. It is vital we attempt to slow the spread of coronavir us by working together globally, so our health ser vices can manage this pandemic.?

?Helping to communicate the for m of the vir us to the public, the ar twork has been created as an alter native representation to the ar tificially coloured imager y received through the media. In fact, vir uses have no colour as they are smaller than the wavelength of light.?

Made through a process of scientific glassblowing, the coronavir us model is based on the latest scientific under standing and diagr ams of the vir us. ?It is vital we attempt to slow the spread of coronavir us by working together globally, so our health ser vices can manage this pandemic.

?All money from this glass model is going to MÊdecins Sans Frontières (MSF) who will be assisting developing countr ies deal with the fallout of the coronavir us epidemic.

The GyroGr aff Endangered Species collection is a ser ies of five one of a kind watches, The five dials depict an elephant, a tiger, a panda, a rhino and a gor illa; all listed by the World Wildlife Fund as being under threat of extinction.

The animals were created using a combination of diamonds and precious metals? polish rhodium- plated white gold or matte or micro- blasted black gold? with colored stones (cognac- colored sapphires, to be exact) used only on the tiger.

The dial is midnight- blue aventur ine, and the 18- kar at white gold case is set with invisible mosaic- set baguettes. Each of the five Endangered Species models has a 48- mm white- gold case. The case is decor ated with invisible mosaic- set baguette- cut diamonds, and each watch comes on a black alligator str ap with a diamond- set deployment clasp buckle.

All were individually hand- set into the dial to create the animals, cr afting their for ms around the GyroGr aff signature double- axis tourbillon between 6 and 7 o?clock, the 3- D white gold moon phase indicator at 10 o?clock, and the power reser ve indicator at 1 o?clock? a tr io of complications Gr aff says is a fir st in watch- making.

Guerlain also announced that by 2021, all of their products will be composed of 95 percent ingredients of natural origin. By the brand?s 200th anniversary in 2028, they aim to be entirely carbon neutral ? talk about a happy birthday.

This partnership marks a new milestone for our efforts to safeguard bees?the symbol of Guerlain?and we are delighted at this opportunity to work closely with experts from the Man and Biosphere program and the OFA,?

MYP- I think it will take a while for things to gear up, the economy must kick star t for billions of people to not die of star vation and pover ty, the gover nment must suppor t not only the under pr ivileged but also businesses and companies who have taken huge hits.

People need to be sensible. Be patient.

Ever yone needs to be suppor tive in this difficult phase be it employer or employee and we must all fight the battle together and hope for a br ighter near future.

PS- Ekaya is a way for us to showcase the Indian Textile Internationally & to show its true potential globally & how Indian Textiles can reach all across the world without any efforts because it deserves to, for its rich Indian heritage textile fabrics and culture.

I always wondered the International brand?s handbags like of Dior, Chanel & Hermes are also made by the local artisans in their respective countries but somehow they have managed to create world class product, then why can?t Indian Textile which has also been created by the local artisans of our country be showcased & sold in a way that these products are sold.

TPE -What is your vision towards the brand ?

PS- My vision is to take India Textile worldwide & present Indian Textiles to be a part of everyday life, by focusing on wearability & sustainability.

PS-t?s a great initiative & it?s of great significance since in the era of Mahatma Gandhi movement they encouraged us to buy ?local & think global? .

Numerous Indian luxury brands are creating astonishing quality products & it?s about time we embrace it, because formerly if our economy is not revived there will be no cash flow for us to even look at the Global brands & every country must support their own local home grown brands who are also creating absolutely world class products!

TPE-What according to you is the future of Indian textile fashion industry? Do you think handwoven fabrics or Khadi fabrics are the new fashion revolution amongst the new generation youngsters that is 25 up .

PS- Absolutely! unlike other brands which are focused mostly on statement, one time wear products which are undoubtedly exquisite will have no value in the future, at present the age of statement pieces will pass & reusable products that are sustainable will make a comeback.

Looking at the present scenario of the economy due to Covid-19,due to the cash crunch buyers will prefer investing in products which have value & can be passed down to generations to come and can be worn amongst themselves.

LABEL NITYA BAJAJ Covid- 19 hit our retail business ver y hard and we had to rethink and re- imagine the working environment for the safety of our Nitya Bajaj family.

In the hunt to buy per fect fitting masks for her kids, the designer ended up using scr aps from her latest summer line named Daisy to test masks.

She worked around a standard patter n and worked on fit and finish to test them on her own kids.

After testing them, she got them approved from her paediatr ician and he said these would work per fect for mouth protection.

QUilted, washable, lined with soft silk and reusable, these facemasks are not only comfor table but make a beautiful statement to your #newnor mal

Hence, her initiative to use fabr ic scr aps and excess for making masks for the under pr ivileged came up.

She donated the fir st lot to the worker s in and around her workplace followed by donating a few to our covidwar r ior s, our cops on the entire AIIMS to Safdar jung hospital stretch along with a few under pr ivileged in South Delhi zone.

Many child masks were donated to roadside children and under pr ivileged women on the roads too.
