Our goal is to help save both your money and the earth. By using what nature provides us with to help your elegant little flowers grow better, you would cut costs from your bills and your plants would grow healthier and taller. Too good to be true? Chemicals found in tap water are harmful to plants. Once such chemical is chlorine, with the others being magnesium and calcium. This immediately makes rainwater the obvious winner for your plants wellbeing. On the other hand, rainwater is free. It is provided by nature while the water running in your taps are not. This summarizes our goals that our proposed idea would provide you with.

If one were to compare whether rainwater or tap water would be more beneficial to our plants, rainwater would definitely emerge victorious. Chlorine, magnesium and calcium are chemicals that are harmful to plants. They are present in tap water but absent in rainwater. Rainwater on the other hand, comes from the ozone which gives rainwater (H2O) an additional atom of oxygen (O2) to form into (H2O2). This additional oxygen atom present in the water allow plants to grow faster and stronger.

Rainwater can also be stored for long periods of time without going bad. The rainwater collected in our plant would also not be a breeding ground for mosquitoes as the water is not directly exposed to the environment.

Background Research Water wastage is an ongoing problem our world is facing right now. Every day, water is wasted with or without our knowledge. Approximately 6.5 billion litres of water are wasted annually and around 780 million people do not have access to clean water. Depending on where you are, rainwater is considered clean water and therefore, not harvesting it would be considered wastage as well.

Home Garden

Water is a resource that would eventually run out. Moreover, approximately 98% of the water available are not fit for humans consumption and only less than 1% of the water are freshwater.

This further fuels the need for us to save water.

Product Description Our concept “Collrain” basically revoles around using artificial plants to water our plants. Collrain can be placed into an open space such as a personal or an open garden by sticking it into the soil or a flower pot. When it rains, it would collect and store rainwater inside it’s stem. Users would then remove the whole plant to water their real plants. This would allow the plants that are kept indoors to grow to their full potential without placing them out in the open.

User insert the artificial plant into the ground.

Opening in Collrain allows water to flow inside it.

Collrain collects water when its raining.

User can then use Collrain to water the plants that are situated indoors or during days when theres no rain.

MEMO Rocking Chair

Memory of Feeling I remembered the time when I was riding on a horse, that moment when I felt the connection between the horse and myself. Especially the firmness of the back. Hips moving freely as the horse straddles, the feel of control I have over it. Subconsciously enjoying the feel of the horse back. That sensation when both my legs grip hold of the back of the horse.

Chinese horse saddle for normal riding Quality of the saddle is not as good as the normal type of sandle which is make of leather. It is not really that comfortable when sitting for a long period of time.

Having to design a furniture base on my feeling I had when I was riding on a horse and tranferring the feeling of sensation to the furniture i going to design.

Memo Rocking Chair The idea behind Memo Rocking chair was to simulate the sensation and feelings felt when riding on a horseback. The design has clean and seamless lines, making it look appealing to the eyes. The organic shape on the other hand is forged to look like the shape of a saddle mounted onto a horse. Sitting on Memo Rocking Chair gives you a surreal experience of riding a horse at the comfort of your home.
