The most famous celebrities in Los Angeles these days are cougars-- the cat kind- like P-22, the mountain lion living under the Hollywood sign. Yet cut off by freeways, the cougars of LA will soon become extinct unless we take action. The #SaveLACougars VR Experience lets you step inside the quest to build the largest wildlife crossing in the world over the 101 Freeway to save this population of mountain lions. It’s an inspiring and beautiful 360/VR film about cougars, our responsibility to our wild neighbors, and the importance of reconnecting a landscape for all wildlife.

2016 INDIANAPOLIS PRIZE
International climate change policy aims to limit global warming to two degrees Celsius. But scientists believe that a temperature rise of just 1.5 degrees could lead to irreversible damage to ecosystems. In 1.5 Stay Alive, science meets music, the style part music video and part factual. Popular Caribbean musicians express their experiences with rising seas by composing and performing songs about climate change, and their visions of how to confront it. Intertwined are insights by scientists and local climate experts in Belize, Costa Rica, Trinidad + Tobago, Haiti, Miami and Louisiana whose coastlines area being lost.

The Indianapolis Prize recognizes and rewards conservationists who have achieved major victories in advancing the sustainability of animal species. Placing the winner and finalists on the pedestal usually reserved for sports and entertainment stars, the impact can be measured by the successes of these men and women working selflessly for wild things and wild places, and by the changes they make in the lives of countless others. Over the years, more than 140 nominees have shared their journeys -- protecting animals large and small, discovering new species and bringing populations back from the very brink of extinction.
Behind the Scenes: For most of us, tracking down a venomous snake in a cluttered storeroom would be a nightmare, but for snake handlers, Simon Keys and Siouxsie Gillett, it’s just another day on the job. This 360 clip was shot during recent filming for season four of the popular Nat Geo Wild show, Snake City. See if you can spot the snake before Simon and Siouxsie do.
