Celebrating Johns Hopkins Sesquicentennial
From its earliest days, Johns Hopkins has been dedicated to testing new ideas, improving lives, and delivering world-changing impact. As we celebrate our Sesquicentennial, we also celebrate the relentless pursuit of knowledge that is the touchstone of a great research university and the extraordinary people who have made—and continue to make—that pursuit possible.
The Sesquicentennial provides the opportunity to be true to the part of us that has been, from our founding, a place devoted to probing ideas; to testing and contesting them to find new, better ones; a place where collective endeavor that unites disparate and complementary disciplines is second nature and a place where we celebrate those unalloyed flights of individual imagination that are paradigm shifting.

During the Sesquicentennial Celebration, more than 500 programs and events across the university will showcase the people, ideas, and milestones that have defined Johns Hopkins. And more programs are being added every day. From groundbreaking research to global impact, we’re sharing the Hopkins story in bold, meaningful new ways. This story will share where we have been, where we are, and where we are going — always looking toward tomorrow.
