Support Election Day Communion - Pick Up a Yard Sign!

Retro Skate Challenge Sunday, October 28, 6-8 pm Brentwood Skate Center, 7th12th graders and small group leaders. Meet there and get picked up there, 6-8 p.m., $5 at the door. If you want to meet the first challenge, come dressed in your best retro 80’s gear! Bring socks and extra money for dinner/video games (optional).

Church League Basketball Season runs early December - February. Team Formations: 7th-12th Girls, 7th-9th Boys, and 10th-12th Boys. Registration forms available outside youth office and due November 7 with $65 fee. We also are in need of coaches! Step Up to Connect Part-time Paid Position Available BUMC has a great opportunity for someone with a flexible evening and weekend schedule. The maintenance department needs an “on call” staff member to work a maximum of 15 hours weekly. Send your resume to Deltina Storey, dstorey@bumc.net.

Annual Holiday Shoppe and Bake Sale sponsored by the BUMC UMW Sunday, November 18 , 8 am to 12 noon, Parlor Assortments of holiday cookies, cakes, pies, and trail mixes will be available.

Tennessee coaster sets, pet beds, cookie mixes, gift tags, yule logs, tee-shirt scarves and flowers, and crayon roll-ups are just some of the homemade items that will be available for sale. Transparenting November 17, 10 am - 2 pm;Singles Area; Cost: $25. Divorcing, separating, and never-married parents will learn ways to minimize the negative impact of divorce or separation on children.

Nexxus Chamber Concerts Taking a Break The Nexus Chamber Orchestra concert series will NOT be holding a program on November 18, as would be its typical third Sunday of the month tradition at 4 pm in the BUMC Chapel. Thank you to the volunteers & supporters of the Fall 2012 Kidsale which raised over $20,000 for youth missions and other outreach ministries in our community. Mark your calendar for the Spring 2013 Kidsale -- March 12-16.

Graceworks Food Pantry is in urgent need of FUEL bags, which provide nutritious food on weekends to students receiving free/reduced lunch. ITEMS NEEDED: (Individual Serving Sizes only) 8 oz. shelf stable boxed milk (Horizon, Hershey, Natrel), cereal, Tuna/ chicken with crackers, microwavable meals (macaroni & cheese, spaghetti and meat, etc.), snacks including cheese 4 oz. canned fruit cups, pudding cups and a salty snack.

2012 Turkey Trot, Thanksgiving Day Held at D1 Sports Training in Franklin, November 22. Benefits Graceworks Ministries. Room in the Inn, ministry to homeless men, will begin in November. Donations of Mens only blue jeans in good condition, warm coats, sweaters, and NEW socks and underwear are needed. Donation bins located in Chapel Narthex.

MMDR s need of warm shoes and blankets for the local villagers in Afghanistan. The climate there in the mountains during the winter is frigid with consistant sub-zero temperatures. Please bring donations to MMDR / Live Beyond 5409 Maryland Way, Suite 214, Brentwood, TN 37027 by November 1.

harvest hands (www.harvesthandscdc.com) Harvest Hands is a catalyst for Christ-centered, wholistic community development working alongside our neighbors to further healthy living, education, spiritual formation and economic development in South Nashville Monday Lunch Volunteers Individuals needed to help with community lunches held at Harvest Hands one Monday a month.
