Gordman Center opens with a
Move prompts enthusiastic responses By Diane Axler Baum Wednesday's move by Friedel Jewish Academy into the new Dan and Esther Gordman Center for Jewish Learning realizes a longtime dream for everyone connected with the academy, according to Dr. Carrie P. Sorensen, director. Dr. Sorensen said that Mike Katzman, chairman of the board, echoed the feelings of faculty, parents, and supporters when he stated, "This new facility provides Friedel with the space, technology, and surroundings worthy of its role as Omaha's Jewish community school." Students have expressed enthusiasm about the spaciousness, new furniture, and state-of-the-art equipment that is theirs to enjoy in the Gordman Center The following are n few of their observations: Zev Eisenberir-Kohll - "Every classroom has a TV and now deskB." Alex Gorifunov • 'We have more computers." Ariel Shukert • 'Everything works.' Jacob Katzmiin • 'It ia a big improvement in the quality of the building where we learn Torah.' Trevor Gerion • *It gives kids the gift of learning.*
Rebecca Brazzle - *We have new classrooms." Raffi Bloom - "Our room has new chalkboards and new walls." Rachel Katzman - "We should treat the building right because it is our brand new building." Daniel LeMaistre noted that the new school is closer to his home; Yoni Freund expressed pleasure that his classroom is situated next to a deck; and Ben Gerber remarked that he looks forward to "new things to see."
