He was also a member of the executive committee of the New England Region of the Zionist Organization. Ordained in 1929, Rabbi Raekovsky had received his religious training in Palestine and at the "Yeshivah College in New York. He also attended New York University and the College of the City of New York. His lather, Rabbi Solomon Raekovsky, was lecturer in Talmud at Yeshivah college and a brother is a rabbi in Syracuse, New York.
