The Jewish Community Center welcomed our new Executive Director, Mark Martin. Mark, thank you for all you have done and all we have to look forward to under your leadership. The JCC has added over 150 new members since the first of January, unveiled a remodeled teen lounge, improved the Fit ‘n Sit program with expanded hours, and already have 151 children signed up

Tonight, I would like to personally thank our fabulous staff here on campus, I’d like to congratulate our award winners and, most importantly, I’d like to thank you, the community, for your unwavering support. This has been a good year for our Omaha Jewish community and for the Federation and its agencies. We made great strides in many areas this year, and we see very bright days ahead for all of us. Here are a few of the highlights from this past year: The Center for Jewish Life added several great programs, including the Friday Learning series, the Klutznick Learning series and the PJ Library Program, where 123 kids receive Jewish books each month.
for preschool next Fall. The Jewish Press will introduce a new look in July that I’m sure we will all appreciate and enjoy for many, many issues to come. The ADL/CRC continued its important work quietly and diligently, as is their practice. They advanced their initiative of greater awareness of the bullying issues in our community and led the public art program known as TypeCast/ReCast. On campus, we enjoyed Marty
Ricks’ first full year as our development director, saw the launching of the new Life and Legacy program and welcomed Margo Parsow to the Foundation. We have also seen the re-energizing of the Rabbis and Presidents committee. Our Annual Campaign rose above the $3 million mark for the first time in several years, as over 100 new community members participated in this year’s effort. Stacey and Jonathan Rockman were fantastic as they led our community through the campaign. We maintained a very high level of support for Israel and Overseas, and we were able to respond to several immediate, if not emergency, requests for additional resources. The Rose Blumkin Jewish Home has been as active as ever providing love, compassion and care to so many individuals and their families. Continued on page 6
