by MARY BORT Jewish Federation of Omaha Foundation Steve and Patty Nogg grew up here. Steve is from Omaha and Patty is from Council Bluffs. Steve and Patty met and were married in Omaha, and chose to raise their family here. And they both care deeply about Omaha’s Jewish community. To honor the memories of loved ones, Steve and Patty established three endowment funds at the Jewish Federation of Omaha Foundation. Additionally, they made arrangements to create future endowment funds to support the Jewish Federation of Omaha in perpetuity. According to Steve, “Patty and I have been active in Omaha’s Jewish community; we’re a part of it. And we don’t take it for granted. We’re both very proud and appreciative, so we are doing all we can to support everything that goes on here and try to be role models for our contemporaries, and for our children and grandchildren.” In 1994, the Noggs established the Ernie and Adalyn Nogg Memorial

Steve and Patty Nogg Endowment Fund in memory of Steve’s parents. The fund’s purpose is to support special programming activities at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) for Jewish youth, from

preschool through college years. Steve attended Central High School. “The old ‘J’ was right across from Central,” recalled Steve. “Mom and Dad were so thankful that my sisters, Lynne

and Jane, and I could go to the ‘J’ and enjoy the services and programs they provided to the community.” “I know that Mom and Dad would love the endowment we established in their memory,” said Steve. “Their children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren have had great experiences at the JCC.” To honor the memory of Patty’s parents, the Noggs established the Betty A. Studna and Seymour T. Lee Endowment Fund in 2000. The fund supports programs that honor grandparents or any program or project sponsored by the League Offering Volunteerism to the Elderly (L.O.V.E) auxiliary of the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home (RBJH). “Steve and I were co-presidents of the Auxiliary for L.O.V.E.,” stated Patty. “We got to see the important services provided to older community members. It’s about honoring your parents and grandparents, and doing the right thing. We wanted to honor Mom and Dad’s memories Continued on page 2
