Over the past 32 years, Priority-1 has grown under the singular vision of the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Shaya Cohen, to become a highly successful organization with institutions and branches around the world. Priority-1’s flagship initiative, Yeshiva Zichron Aryeh, and its affiliated yeshiva network is a comprehensive yeshiva system spanning from high school until advanced graduate level programs that have successfully implanted a chinuch model to help create generations of rabbis, educators, and community leaders. The upcoming event gives us the chance to highlight the incredible work of Dr. Irving Moskowitz, z”l. Dr. Moskowitz spent his life rebuilding the Jewish community in America and Israel. A successful doctor and businessman, Dr. Moskowitz spent his efforts building up East Jerusalem and created a charity empire based on the precept, “He who has saved one life, it is as if he has saved the world.” The Moskowitzs have been close friends of the yeshiva and Rabbi Cohen, (to the point having gone so far as to name a building in the Old City “Beit Gita,” after Rebbetzin Cohen, a”h). It is our honor to formally dedicate the Dr. Irving Moskowitz Beis Medrash in recognition of his tireless dedication to Klal Yisroel. During the upcoming event, Priority-1 will also be formally dedicating the Ezras Nashim of the yeshiva in honor of Mrs. Barbara Gold. Mrs. Gold
was a person who lived with the Ribbono Shel Olam every waking hour. A mother of talmidim in the yeshiva, Mrs. Gold’s dedication to tefillah was an inspiration to all those who knew her. May her neshama have an aliyah. The 32-anniversary Priority-1 dinner will be honoring Shmuli and Deena Schwebel. A dear friend and partner with the yeshiva, the Schwebels have dedicated enormous time and effort to help the yeshiva and Rabbi Cohen. Well-liked and always ready with a smile, the Schwebels are pillars of the Cedarhurst community and exemplify Torah true role models. They have hosted a shiur given by Rabbi Cohen in his home every Monday to help strengthen emunah and bitachon in the community. We are pleased to take this opportunity to express our hakaras hatov for everything Mr. and Mrs. Schwebel have done for the yeshiva over the past number of years. The dinner will be held on Monday, June 17 at 7:30 pm on the Zichron Aryeh campus, 1213 Bay 25th St, Far Rockaway, NY, 11691. The dinner will feature Sharmel Caterers, as well as live musical entertainment. Complimentary valet parking will be available for dinner guests. All guests will also receive an advance copy of Rabbi Cohen’s upcoming new book, Impassioned Chinuch.
