•Secured matching funds from national foundations doubling aid for local Holocaust survivors.

•NJ’s FY24 budget includes Federation advocacy wins:

… a 40% increase in Holocaust survivor assistance … for the first time in history, funding for kosher meals on wheels.

Shiri’s needs took a back seat when her dad moved to Israel and stopped paying child support during the year it took to diagnose her brother’s illness.

Federation made Jewish camp possible for Shiri to “reset” her mental health and repair positive feelings about Israel and Jewish life.*

Our teen grant enabled Liyah to go on March of the Living, retracing Holocaust victims’ steps in Poland then going to Israel to celebrate our Jewish homeland.

Federation helps teens deepen Jewish identity and education through immersive peer travel.

NAMED AMONG NJ’S TOP NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

NJBIZ, New Jersey’s leading business journal, named Jewish Federation in the Heart of New Jersey #20 out of 25 top NJ nonprofit organizations.

ENHANCING SECURITY TO PROTECT THE JEWISH COMMUNITY

•Due to Federation advocacy, NJ’s FY24 budget includes Nonprofit Security Grants (NSGP) of $7 million, a $2 million increase from FY23.

•Federation and Secure Community Network launched a new online threat/incident report for more timely and accurate response.

•Formed Jewish Security Alliance of NY/NJ with eight peer organizations for better sharing of information, training, and other resources.

• With Federation guidance, federal NSGP grants brought in another $2 million* for FY23, for a total of $13.5 million in state, federal, and local grants to date.

OPPORTUNITY GRANTS ARE BACK.

The Adom Project’s medical students and EMTs received funds to provide Stop the Bleed® kits and training to religious institutions.

CARE FOR AND CONNECTION WITH JEWS IN ISRAEL AND OVERSEAS

•Sponsored Israel@75 celebrations connecting community members with what Israel means to them and all Jews.*

•Federations’ Israel Office continues to provide analysis of and advocate for talks on judicial reforms.

•The Jewish Agency for Israel Federation-supported Fund for Victims of Terror distributed aid after attacks related to Jenin counter-terrorism operation.

Ukraine War response continues:

• resettling those who fled to Israel or elsewhere in Europe, including $145K targeted for Aliya integration

•humanitarian support for those in Ukraine, including mitigating burnout among rescuers

We are honored that Kyiv recognized our role in supporting the Ukrainian people.

Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) and Chabad’s Jewish Relief Network Ukraine (JRNU) celebrated war relief partnership.
