Kids can enter individually by grade or as part of a collaborative classroom project. Prizes will be awarded in individual categories, a classroom category, and one grand prize winner. We’re excited to expand this event county-wide, inspired by the Hebrew Academy’s annual contest. Drop off designs at The Ecology Center by 10:30 AM on 10/20/24. Or arrange with organizers for an early drop off option.

Sukkah Building 101:

Unleash your creativity by using materials that symbolize the rules of sukkah construction. Show the judges you understand the basic sukkah rules with your design.

Additional Cool Rules to Spark Your Creativity!

To inspire imaginative sukkah builds, we’ve got some exciting rules for you! Let your creativity run wild with these unique challenges:

Wagon or Boat Sukkahs: Think outside the box! Build your sukkah on top of a wagon or even a boat for a fun twist.

Whale Bone Wonders: Incorporate whale bones into your design for a spectacular and unusual structure.

Wind-Resistant Walls: Ensure your sukkah's walls can withstand the breeze steady is the name of the game!

Creative Roofs: Your roof can't be made of tightly bundled materials, but feel free to get loose and creative! Remember, no food is allowed, but anything plant or tree materials grow is fair game but should be cut.

Camel or Elephant Bases: Take your build to new heights by constructing your sukkah on the back of a camel or elephant—how adventurous!

Building Your Model Sukkah - Basics to Keep in Mind!

Your model should be 3D & Maximum size of 12"x12"

If you’re building with Legos or similar materials, feel free to use plastic plant parts to represent the roofing material (schach).

Scale and context matter. If you choose to depict a sukkah built on the back of a camel, use a plastic toy camel to bring your vision to life.
