“ WHILE I WAS PRESIDENT OF JF&CS, I HAD BREAST CANCER. MY SISTERS AND MY DAD MADE A GIFT TO JF&CS TO LAUNCH A CANCER SUPPORT GROUP AND I STARTED GOING. JF&CS HAD SEPARATE DOORS FOR CLIENTS AND VOLUNTEERS. I HAD ALWAYS WALKED THROUGH THE VOLUNTEER DOOR. NOW I WAS A CLIENT. IT WAS A HUGE SHIFT. THAT EXPERIENCE TAUGHT ME THAT WE DON’T BUILD FOR OTHERS, WE BUILD FOR OURSELVES. WE NEVER KNOW WHEN WE’LL BE IN NEED OF SERVICES. THIS IS WHAT A STRONG COMMUNITY IS ABOUT. — CAROL Z. Jewish Atlanta’s stunning growth continues. More of us than ever before are choosing to build our future in Atlanta and its suburbs. More of us than ever before are shaping this dynamic city, sharing our talents, and infusing the Jewish community with innovative energy. We are diverse in religious observance and in the ways we express our Jewish identity. We have diverse personal stories, ambitions, and heritages. We are farflung, living across a sprawling metropolis. But we are united by shared Jewish values that command us to do good and to care for each other. We are Jewish ATL: a community that values “we” more than “I.” A community that understands that you, the donor, and the collective of philanthropy are what it takes to change lives and shape the future. Together, we have been catalysts for good. You met the moment when COVID-19 upended life in Atlanta. You met the moment when Ukrainian Jews and their families became refugees overnight. And going forward, we will ask you to meet new and urgent emerging needs like mental health, community security, and economic challenges. Jewish ATL is a place of immense generosity! Your tremendous response to emergency funds proved it. This year, we humbly ask you to help us reach a new level of philanthropy. With your increased support for the Partners Fund, with your volunteerism, and with your legacy investments, we will be ready for anything!

WE ARE INNOVATORS, ACTIVISTS, CATALYSTS FOR GOOD.

Jewish tradition wryly observes, “Man plans. G-d laughs.” We all understand that now. If COVID-19 taught us anything, it was the sheer unpredictability of life. Now, after two years of a global pandemic, deadly attacks on Jewish targets, a worldwide increase in antisemitic acts, and a war in Ukraine, we know that the unimaginable can actually happen.

TO TRULY CARE FOR THE COMMUNITY, WE NEED TO BE READY FOR EVERYTHING. This is precisely the role of Federation. To know, uniquely, what our Jewish community needs. To not only plan, but to act. To leverage the essential services of our community partners. And above all, to have the financial resources needed to meet the moment. World, Responders.

We are Philanthropic First

2023 COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN BUILT FOR THIS 9 The emergency response funds for COVID-19, Ukrainian refugees, and Ethiopian Jews making aliyah were noble and needed. But to meet ongoing needs requires even greater capacity. Your increased gift to the Partners Fund ensures that we can always be philanthropic first responders. We don’t ask for an increase just because another year has passed. We ask because, coming out of the pandemic, it is clear that only you can guarantee that the dollars will be there to address all the needs emerging in our post-Covid world. By asking you for an increase, we are amplifying the community’s collective ability to respond to these mounting needs.YOU MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO RESPOND TO EMERGENCY NEEDS PARTNERS FUND TARGETED PHILANTHROPY LAUNCH A LEGACY CAMPAIGN IMPACT needs. • Expanding mental health services for our young people and those who care for them • Increasing security in our schools, synagogues, and organizations • Addressing and combating antisemitism • Providing food security and financial aid in this inflationary time • Resettling refugees here and overseas • Supporting a rapidly growing 65+ population IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ATLANTA JEWISH FOUNDATION, JEWISH ATL IS ADDRESSING THESE CRITICAL ISSUES:
