THE CHOIR
The Choir of Jesus College Cambridge has a worldwide reputation for music making, built on international performances, broadcasts, acclaimed recordings, and the regular pattern of services in the College’s historic Chapel.
Music has been central to the life of Jesus College since its foundation in 1496. Uniquely in Cambridge, the College supports two choirs: the Chapel Choir, rooted in centuries of tradition and comprising student Choral Scholars and Choristers drawn from local schools, and the adult mixed-voice College Choir, founded following the admission of women to the College, with around twenty-five Choral Scholars. Together, they form the Choir of Jesus College Cambridge. Alongside Chapel services, the Choir maintains a busy schedule of concerts, recordings and tours.
Thanks to its Patrons, it offers subsidised instrumental tuition to Choristers, champions young composers through competitions, works with schools nationwide, and undertakes major projects including collaborations with leading orchestras, international tours and broadcasts. By becoming a Patron, you help to provide transformative opportunities for young singers and bring outstanding choral music to future generations.
