Bike NYC and UpCycle have partnered to create a safe space within the Brooklyn Navy Yard to practice the rules of the road before riding on the road.

With the skill of the in-house bicycle fabricator UpCycle, every furnishing is made from a recycled bike in the hopes of creating a communal space to learn.

Practicing on an interior pathway that mimics the bike lanes of the surrounding area, patrons will be more comfortable in their own neighborhood. Bike NY hopes to create a community of cyclists that are conﬁdent on their commutes and educated on how to maintain their bikes.

Robin Ames is an avid stamp collector and duck enthusiast. Robin is a continual competitor in the Federal Duck Stamp Art Contest. This year they will win with Savannah’s most common water fowl, the wood duck. In preparation for the competition, the Ames move coastal to the House on the water inspired by the colors of the wood duck

The Window Seat

A CNC cut seat meant for looking out the window. Mimicing the framework of a window, the window seat blends the interior with the exterior. Everything’s a view through the window seat.

The flower that never bends is a belated apology for destroying my mother’s hydrangeas. For years the hydrangeas grew around the imprint of my body. The summer after making this piece, the hydrangeas reformed to their original shape.
