Built Role: Interior and Exhibition Designer for RELX Indonesia

The RELX Pod System Vape device is a compact and lightweight pen-style device designed for both beginner and veteran vapers. As a main sponsor for We The Fest festival, the aim of the design is to attract users to enjoy special promotions and a space for visitors to relax inside the booth. The whole booth itself is photogenic so visitors can do photoshoots in every angle.

Rounded elements are applied to the booth based on its design guidelines. The lighting itself is indirectly refected from the hologram stickers, using stripped LEDs on each edges to create shimmering effects to attract visitors.

The gate is installed by colored ropes with different angled lines to create more depths. The colors complimented RELX’s main color guidelines beamed by warm light spotlights. The shape itself is integrated with the indoor “house”.

Facade Gate Installation

As the brand is launching special items and promotions for the festival, a counter is placed at the corner of the booth for transactional purpose and to contain the expected queue lines with devices displayed at the backdrop.

The activation space inside provides visitors to chill while waiting for the festival performers. The backrop is installed with circular elements with stripped LED lightings to refect the hologram sticker base. The cut out device is also aimed at the center as the main highlight for branding purpose. Side View Counter Area Photobooth

Djakarta Warehouse Project is a 3-days annual dance music festival featuring international dance music artists, held by Ismaya Live. GoSpace is an event activation sponsored by Gojek by providing various live and transport services throughout the event.

The designed products include:

1. 50M2 main booth,

2. 40M2 customer shelter for transport services,

3. Standing signages.

The main booth is located at event area where visitors can experience live services. Visitors can enjoy the services such as massage, salon, charging station and photobooth to “recharge” themselves throughout the event.

The concept of the form and structure are inspired by a spaceship where visitors can experience a space journey throughout the exterior to the interior area.

The entrance (centre) is an LED installation to project a transitional space. A motion graphic is projected followed by the shape of the white backdrop at the end of the passage to display the thematic and promotional contents.

Visitors can engage the activations through circular counter table–which is shaped as Gojek’s logo–for display and information area.

Massage and Salon Area

The massage and salon area are placed on the right corner of the booth where visitors can receive free services from Gojek.

The seating area itself is presented like how a spaceship’s interior area with spaceship details accents from graphical elements to small details of lighting.

Indirect lightings with monochrome colors are projected to create a space sense whilst refecting the neon stickers for graphic details.

Visitors can see through the activities indoor from the window with lighted, rounded edges.

Main Booth Layout

The main fnishing of the interior booth is using a monochrome color palatte, helped by strong lines with LEDs to accentuate the theme.

Aluminium vinyl sticker are used for the oudoor of the booth with small details of spaceship elements.

Blueprint Area

The second entrance/exit are on the right side of the booth for easier crowd fow. An information board is installed near the right entrance/exit to promote discounts and booth information. The lighting of the whole booth is projected by blue led to create an ambience of a spaceship.

Standing Signage

The standing signages are installed around the event venue to provide informations related to Gojek and its promotional contents. The shape itself enhances the main thematic concept with same materials with main booth and customer lounge. The contents are all lighted with neon green and purple colors to attract visitors.

Gojek Customer Lounge

Gojek Customer Lounge is a designated area near the venue exit for visitors to order from the application in order to have a convenient space helped by staffs.

They can comfortably wait for the drivers and recharge their phone there. A merchandise counter is displayed at the center of the lounge.

WE THE FEST is a 3-days annual dance music festival featuring international dance music artists, held by Ismaya Live. #WEHACKTHEFEST is a live activation by Gojek as an ofcial on-demand app for the event.

The designed products include:

1. 70M2 main booth,

2. 40M2 customer shelter for transport services,

3. Standing signages.

The concept of the activation is about how visitors can “hack” the experience of attending the festival without hassles helped by the services provided from Gojek.

As a tech-company, the Key Visual of the booth is celebrated with motherboard elements. Inside the booth are some activities visitors can have to enjoy the festival better.

Main Entrance

The main entrance of the booth are located at the right corner near the main trafc of the venue. Visitors are welcomed with arrayed 3/4 green LED circles and come across lighted Gojek’s logo by the end.

Merchandise Counter

Merchandise Area is located next to the entrance for information centre. Displays are displayed inside the counter with pink LED for better engagement with the visitors.

As visitors can get overwhelmed by the line-ups, the side entrance of the booth has an information-LED-board of performance schedule and the crowd situation of the stages.

“me.mov” Kinetic Installation

The “phone booth”–where a dedicated internet modem is installed–are scattered in the event area for visitors to use it for better phone signal and can be used as a meeting point with maps visual inside.

“me.mov” is an installation where visitors can experience kinetic movements mirroring to their own body movements. Various template of Gojek’s visuals are applied to enhance the brand exposure.

Wall branding is installed near exit for visitors to communicate the message to use the application accompanied by the maps visual directing them towards the meeting area with the designated drivers.

GoCar and GoRide are two of main services in ride hailing from Gojek Indonesia. In order to have a structural system of ofine activation, a master guideline is created to manage the communication between drivers, staffs and customers to avoid cluttered information and road trafc. The toolbox is then distributed to the whole nation to have a uniform design.

The selected products include:

1. Customer shelter; bus station, meeting points, waiting area, etc.

2. Signage,

3. Covid-19 prevention items,

4. Regional ofce facade design.

Indoor Seating Area

The concept is to design a modular booth which can be applied in various spaces and areas, whilst the modules for the seating are designed in geometrical shapes based on Gojek’s branding language; colors and elements. The materials used are mainly from plywood with paint fnished, which is easily accessed throughout the regions.

Pick-Up Points

The main point of the pick-up points is to be located for drivers and customers as a meeting point. The shape is basically formed by geometrical shapes from Gojek’s brand language with enough space for contents to be generated and/or inserted–either with motion graphics or simply vinyl stickers.

Outdoor Seating Area

The shelter is designed based on a “Lounge” concept so that customers can seat comforably while waiting for their drivers to meet them. The materials used are mainly from hollow steel to expect durability from extreme weathers. Some contents are also installed as backdrops for promotional contents installed on black, hollow steels which are on horizontal grids to provide air circulation but maintaining a clean backgrounds from the surroundings.

Collaborating with local brand, a totem with hand sanitizer dispenser is installed before visitors entering a venue.

Covid-19 Pevention Toolbox is a programme created to provide an upgraded system for customers and drivers in hope to have a safe engagement towards the services.

The toolbox itself could be installed in indoors and outdoors depending on its use and still maintaining Gojek’s brand language with their campaign which promotes customers to have a safe trip in using the application.

Helmet Storage

As customers tend to use their own helmet for hygiene reasons, a helmet storage is installed at the entrance of public venues for them regarding to their own comfort and safety.

The booth is aimed to be modular and can be used for various spaces and functions for Gojek’s ofine activations.

The modules can be moved and installed easily as a “fat pack” with hinges playing as the main role. Furnitures will be placed based on the needs.

The confgurations can be expanded from 2x2m2,, 2x4m2 and 4x4m2

The main idea of the booth is modular and fexible in terms of moving and adapting to the designated spaces with various confgurations.

As commonly public areas require a certain height for backdrops, hollow square structure is applied to keep its transparency and could be arranged as needed.

Each items are designed in a modular system which can be used separately, in groups. Moreover, they can be stacked for storage purpose to save more spaces.

The top table of the desk is hinged with another layer that can be used fexibly depending on the space situation.

Bhimasena is a private research-based technology and development company. The project is a 4-days exhibition aiming to exhibit products and engage to their potential clients in a relaxed setting.

“It is not only an exhibition booth but rather a living room where the company and visitors can meet and engage in a more relaxed setting. The reception area is a cosy and intimate space flled with various plants. The café area, which became an attraction point by itself, is integrated into the scaffolding structure.

The whole exhibit takes place on the second foor, overlooking the living room. The structure is made of a rigid yet delicate scaffolding structure, creating a strong company’s presence.”

Facade

The living room welcomes the visitors to have a comfortable space to discuss with a bar area where they can have some beverages.

The signs were placed with white vinyl stickers on the warm grey fooring. Red, semi-transparent acrylics are also used to represent the brand color with brackets to support itself.

Materials used for the information boards consist of acrylics, perforated metal sheet, rolled banner and stainless steel clipped on the scaffolding structure. Spotlight and indirect lighting are used to highlight each of the contents.

Punya Keramik is a ceramic community founded by 9 local brands focusing on the awareness of pottery in general. The activation will include educational space, display area and pop up shop. The aim of the exhibition concept is to create a welcoming space for visitors to know more about the process of pottery. Each brand can display and sell their own products as well.

The main goal of the design is to create a space which integrates the exhibition and selling area. The visitors will be welcomed by an installation collaborating with forist displaying broken ceramics.

Each brands is represented by two uniform modular plywood table at the center of the space for easy circulation.

Whilst the sunlight is only beamed on the right side of the space, the highlight of the products are placed there for sunlight efciency.

The process of pottery is displayed at the high counter bar. As the spotlight is already existing, the displayed products are place below to create more depth and dramatic experience for the customers.

More Than Miles Cafe and Coffee Roastery

More than Miles cafe is a coffee shop and roastery loacted in the city of Pekanbaru. In the design concept, it is hoped to facilitate a friendly neighbourhood space for customers to enjoy a cup of coffee made from direct roasted beans.

Layout
Visitors will be welcomed by a roastery area separated by clear glass doors, followed by an open concepr bar across for ordering.

The cafe is separated into two areas–indoors and outdoors.

White and green paint are applied mostly to create a simple and lively space with introduction of wood furnishings.

The tables are placed in various size to accomodate different social spaces for intimates or even groups.

Smoking Area

As the existing shophouse is lack of openings, a wide, raw back wall helped the outdoor space to penetrate enough natural sunlight.

Potted plants are placed in several corners to enhance a more welcoming surrounding.

Thesis Research and Design Renovation Proposal

Planterarium Jakarta is a research and design proposal for thesis study in aim of renovation. The design proposal itself is hoped to deliver the astronomical context to the visitors by engaging direct involvement in immersive space by triggering one’s sensories gradually. The content of the exhibition itself will be showing its most familiar way to the most distant accrodingly.

As the only astronomy center in Indonesia which is located inside Taman Ismail Marzuki, the planetarium is hoped to synergize between the frontier technology alongside education.

NARRATIVE IMMERSION

T he main concept of the space is to create an experience based on narrative immersion of one’s senses. An exhibition where visitors can be invested in a story and is similar to what is experienced while reading a book or watching a movie.

The objective of the design would be by introduced by a “familiar” analogy which will be followed by the related topic or displayed subject.

The Earth Pre-exhibition

An introduction and the very frst impression of the space. This phase will convey the visitor’s attention in order to be in sync with the context itself, including the exhibition’s content

The Earth interacts the visitors by the interactive spinning sphere which is showing the current orbiting satellites of each area, The composition of the atmosphere and its uses are shown by the projection, with the complementary color of the Earth.

The result of high and neap tide is projected to show the new and full moon. The color of the projector itself is the complementary color of the Moon.

The Moon Pre-exhibition Shows basic information and facts about the Moon before entering the highlight of the main content.

The Moon is highlighting the phases by alternately dimming the projector accordingly towards the orbits around the Earth.

The Post Show area is where the visitors will continue the narrative journey in corresponding to the previous sequences by delivering advanced context especially in the exhibition area.

While the visitors have been served by the preliminary topics, the content in this area will deliver more complicated subjects for the visitors to be in awe and appreciation towards astronomy.

The Solar System is exhibiting the planetary system in the galaxy by displaying the information of the contents (e.g. distance, compositions etc.)

The ramp is gradually ascending from the frst foor to the second foor following the sequence of the whole exhibition.

Most of the informations displayed are placed alongside the visitors’ path of journey. For instance, some 3D displays are suspended from the ceiling their related content closed to the railings.

The Big Bang Explosion display is installed alongside the ramp towards the lower foor. Visitors can view the 3D miniature of the content with its information on the side rails of the ramp itself. The end of the ramp will lead them towards the end of the sequence to retail area and restaurant.

First Winner of Cafe Design Competition by Pantone Indonesia

1808 by Caffe Molinari would like to introduce their signature coffee with the best taste that is accompanied by style and culture of the Italian. The general concept is to provide a space where people can enjoy the products with friends during break time or even a shot to start or end their day.

The project aims to sell 1808 unique character as European legenday coffee within their bold and eye-catching visual to makes them stands out amongst the competitors without losing their original signature. Hence, the spatial design will introduce a fresh experience where customers can interact well with the space and branding while enjoying a cup of coffee..

The main idea of the design is to create a composition in sync with the key visual in relation with pop and geometrical shapes. The layout can be easily separated to bar area and seating area.

The color scheme implemented is also complimenting based on the key visual and murals. Surfaces of the materials are fnished and coated with fat duco paint to create a playful ambience.
