Description:
For my final academic project, I chose to design a hostel in my hometown of Salvador, Bahia. Despite being a popular tourist destination in Brazil, there is a lack of affordable and inclusive accommodations for students and backpackers. My goal was to create a spacethatservesnotonlyasahostelbut also as a cultural hub where people can gather, connect, and learn about different cultures.
The concept for this project was inspired by the roots of Brazilian culture, showcasing the fusion of diverse influences that have come together over time. The triangular shape of the design symbolizes the three main sources of our culture: the indigenous people, Africans, andEuropeans(primarilyPortuguese).
