BA C K GROUND I am currently a Senior at the Univsersity of Wisconsin - Madison, studying interior architecture. I come from a small town in Wisconsin but have always dreamt of bigger things. Since I was young, I was obsessed with the process of creating.

From massice LEGO sets to sandbox video games like Minecraft and Simcity, I have always wanted to build my world from the ground up.

C ONC EPT NEXT is a global technology company that focuses on health & wellbeing by putting emphasis on an individual’s personal connection to nature through organic living advocacy. The new satellite location in Atlanta hopes to showcase the company’s core values of sustainability, organics, and wellbeing through its physical office. These values are crucial to the overall design plan and will be communicated through biophilic design & a nature-inspired work environment. The final design will successfully communicate both the company’s brand and values, while providing their employees a healthy working environment.

CL I E N T The University of Wisconsin-Madison wants to repurpose the historic Horse Barn that sits in the lakeshore portion of campus, and turn it into an innovation hub for all campus students. The site also needs multiple private apartments to accomodate graduate students, researchers, and visiting professors.

C ONC EPT The LOOP is a redefined and reimagined space that hopes to encourage collaboration, innovation, and creativity while also providing inviting apartments close to campus meant to house visiting researchers and professors. To create this atmosphere, The LOOP embraces a nuetral color palette meant to mimic a blank canvas, and ulitlizes bold accessories and statement pieces throughout both the living and learning spaces to inspire bright ideas and creativity.

ON-SI TE MEASUREMENTS The benefit of working with a building on campus is that is was walking distance from our classroom. We were free to visit the site multiple times to get real and accurate measurements using tools such as cameras, measuring tape and lasers. We gathered all the information necessary to model the building in Auto-CAD and Revit.

3D TO-SC ALE MOD ELI NG After intial on-site measurements, working with a team of 4, we created a 3D model using Auto-CAD and a lazer-cutter to produce this to-scale model. This model helped us better understand and explore spatial relationships.

AD JAC ENC Y MATRI X An intial adjacency matrix helped me figure out primary and secondary spaces.

D I AGRAMMI NG With the help of the 3D model and walking through the site, I worked through bubble diagrams and block diagrams to better explore all my layout options.

V I S UAL C O M M UNI C ATIO N These visual boards help communicate with clients both the exact products that will be going into their projects as well as the materials, costs, and manufacturers all in an easy-to-digest graphic.

C L IE N T Investors who wish to open a Boutique hotel that connects to the Fashion District of New York City CON C E P T The Rosenstein is inspired by Nettie Rosenstien, a German-Jewish Immigrant that came to NYC when she was young. She began designing and came up with the iconic fashion staple, the Little Black Dress. The Hotel uses her as a muse where the accompanying restaurant, the Abedessen, pay homage to her german roots. The Abedessen is inspired by the Bauhaus movement, which was running parallel in time in Germany when Nettie was designing in New York.
