Case Study Background:

Obstacles:

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream was founded in 1928 in Oakland California, now a subsidiary of Nestle. It is America’s largest producer of ice cream and an American staple in the freezer.

Over the pass eighty five years Dreyer’s has been inventing a number of different flavors of ice cream from Rocky Road to Mint Chip, but they do produce more traditional flavors like vanilla and chocolate. Limited edition flavors are available during the holidays which comprise of Eggnog, Pumpkin, and Peppermint. This project will showcase these limited edition flavors in an interactive illustration showing consumers just how they can use these flavors in simple and easy recipes.

The number one flavor of ice cream in America is vanilla, and getting people to try different flavors is a little harder then it seems. By marketing these new flavors in a different way via a new fun recipe we can get consumers to take the dive into a whole new flavor.

Consumers can enjoy a fun new treat with the family during the holidays or even just help them get into the holiday spirit!

Support Statements/ Reasons Why? Around the holidays many families come together and share food and company. Introducing new and fun recipes that everyone can do can help bring the holiday cheer to the family through ice cream.

This interactive illustration will showcase limited edition flavors Eggnog, Pumpkin, and Peppermint. In addition, it will present how to use these flavors in simple and easy recipes with fun and interactive menus and rollovers. Product packaging, ice cream, and other foods will be incoporated within this illustration.

The tone of this interactive illustration will entail a holiday tone with holiday color pallets for each flavor as well as distinct holiday icons for example cornucopia, snowman, snowflakes, and Christmas ornaments.

Case Study Media: This illustration will be interactive and viewed online. It will be created using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat.

Creative Considerations: Dreyer’s ice cream has a specific brand identity from its iconic logo to its distinct brown and white rim container. All of these considerations need to be infused within the final project so as to transition smoothly from the current site into the new interactive illustration.
