THE CLIENT FEMA - Federal Emergency Management Agency. Mission- Helping people before, during, and after disasters. Support the citizens and first responders to work together and improve the capability to prepare, protect against, respond to, recover from natural disasters.Â


THEÂ PROJECT The premise of our interactive project is to get FEMA to channel their information and raise awareness in a new and creative way. The purpose is to inform the viewer about key survival tips on natural disasters through the use of an interactive story through personal accounts of survivors of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami that hit the west coast of Indonesia.


WHY IS INTERACTIVE The use of interactive storytelling design will create more impact on the user. The user will enter the story in an immersive way and understand the information better by going through the real life stories of survivors and FEMA tips.

Who is the user? Our project is intended for those people who care about safety and the environment. These are people who always want to feel prepared in any situation.

How is it interactive? The user will be making decisions, choosing options, being immerse in videos, listening to audio effects. Devices to use: Desktop & Mobile


#03 What is the users journey? Context The user might be going on a trip or might be preparing themselves for a natural disaster that might be coming. Other sites with this information might be distracting them, however FEMA is one of the most well-known agencies. Progression The interactive story is broken down into parts, each which ends in an engaging way, making the user know more. The videos of the interview and actual footage will put the user in the protagonists shoes. Devices The user will be using a computer or their phone- they will either be a novice or an expert looking for further information. Functionality The function of our content is to engage the user in survival stories that will help them learn how to survive themselves if they were put into that situation. Another goal of our content is for the user to join the FEMA movement. Emotion The user is first apprehensive but interested. When they start the story they are pulled in and are surprised. At the end of the journey they are amazed and eager to learn more.
