With at its core the presentation of all five current projects by Jesse Passenier, serving to conclude his New Makers Funding of the Performing Art Fund NL (FPK), the mark of the composer and founder of the festival is significant. In this act lies the intend to make a grateful gesture to the city of Maastricht, which has been an important cradle of his music studies and development. Ever since 2007, Passenier has been active in and around town. Starting out as a student, by now he is an educator of Jazz Composing and Arranging at the Conservatory of Maastricht and a coach in the Master. Beside his projects, challenging performances are presented. Related, because of their explorations of mixed artforms and crossover styles. This also becomes apparent, looking at the venues. On the one hand pop stage ‘de Muziekgieterij’, also home to production partner Intro In Situ, fits the funky, jazzy and poppy sides of the projects. The ‘Lutherse Kerk’, on the other hand, gives the opportunity for the more intense and deep concert experience, with space for experiment. Food is no less important for the experience. Every day will have its own twist, linked to the themes of the concerts.
