AUGUST 2015 Spend Your Summer with PBS39! At PBS39, we’ve had another benchmark summer full of educational fun! We’ve hosted talented, driven high school students at the PBS39 Public Media & Education Center for two summer camps – our brand-new Media Career Academy (June 15th - 19th), and our annual Production U summer camp (July 13th - 17th). Of course, our youngest friends weren’t left out. They’ve had the opportunity to hear stories, sing songs and meet TeleBear all summer during Story Time. The fun will continue bi-weekly on Mondays at 10am through August. For more information, please email education@wlvt.org. There’s plenty to enjoy on-air this August, as well. Knoebels, a documentary from our friends at WVIA (Scranton) about the popular regional amusement park premieres on PBS39 Tuesday, August 4th at 9pm. In addition, we’ll tell the story of female trailblazers with Makers: Women Who Make America (Airs Tuesday, August 4th at 10pm); we wrap up Season 1 of the hit MASTERPIECE drama, Poldark on Wednesday, August 5th at 9pm; and bring back special programming and member favorites from August 8th -16th. Original PBS39 programming roars back in August, with the premiere of our brand-new music series, Steel Sessions airing weeknights at 11pm beginning Monday, August 17th. Each half-hour episode of Steel Sessions will feature a different local artist offering their raw musical talents. And, in case you want to be a part of Steel Sessions as it happens, you can attend as many tapings as you’d like at PBS39 on August 13th and 14th! Visit wlvt.org for more information. The calendar may read August, but summer is just heating up at PBS39. Help us make this a month to remember!
