An Evening with José Galvez October 3rd at 6:30PM

Please join the Hispanic Heritage Month Committee and Multicultural Student Affairs in welcoming Pulitzer Prize winner Mr. José Galvez. For over 40 years, José has used film to create a historic record of the Latino experience. His work has been featured in many museums around the world, including the Smithsonian. This event will take place on Wednesday, October 3rd at 6:30PM in the Faculty Club. The Hispanic Heritage Month Committee and the Alliance of Latin American Students (ALAS) will be hosting Professionalism and Business Etiquette on October 10th at 6:00PM in the UC 233. This will be a panel discussion on graduate school and career preparation. The last event for Hispanic Heritage Month 2012 will be Dorm Storm in Hecht/Stanford Residence Hall. Flipping “U” Out Month

Formally known as Flipping “U” Out Week, Flipping “U” Out Month (FUO) is a series of events throughout the month of October used to promote modern Asian culture. All events are open to the public! October 5th Get Your Game On Night UC 245 7:00PM Help us kick off our FUO Month by joining us for awesome competition and games. Applications available for our Ate/Kuya/Ading program. October 12th Karaoke Night UC 245 7:00PM No experience needed here. Sing classics and some of today’s top songs with a fun crowd. Be sure to bring your duet partner because there will be multiple microphones. October 19th Ramen Power Hour UC 245 7:00PM Get ready for FSA’s annual Ramen Noodle eating contest! There will be different competitions such as speed eating and quantity eating. The cost is $3 for non-members to participate, but the event is free to watch. October 25th Movie Night UC 245 7:00PM Find us on Facebook and vote for what movie you would like to see! Please visit www.facebook.com/groups/umfsa after October 5th to vote! October 26th A/K/A Banquet UC Ballroom D 7:00PM No plans for Fall Break? Your FSA family will have plenty of food for you. We’ll also reveal the Ate/Kuya/Ading pairings! Native American Month Programming Board Are you interested in commemorating the Native American culture? If so, be a part of the Native American Programming Board (NAPB) sponsored by Multicultural Student Affairs and help plan this year’s events. Native American Heritage Month is a celebration that is held during the month of November to remember the contributions Native Americans have made to the United States.
