Our Home Search Our 2nd year of marriage has been surrounded by home searching and moving. We didn’t think we would move until after our 2nd year, but interest rates were good and we saw new home developments coming to fruition. We started home searching in October and found a place in Chino. We put our name down on the waiting list while still going to open houses in Walnut, Diamond Bar, and Chino Hills looking for our dream home of 5 bedrooms, close to work and church, a backyard, and maybe even a fixer-upper. We then found a place in Walnut and the seller accepted our offer. However, it fell thru because there were just too many things to fix and we didn’t have the funds for it. January arrived and we visited my parents future condo and walked around the complex and units for fun, but we ended up falling in love with the space. The next day we signed the papers to buy the condo.

It was nothing we wanted. It was not a single family home, it did not have 5 bedrooms, no backyard, and was not near our work or church. What happened? I have no answer but to say that God wanted us there. It was a good investment and where we wanted to be for a little while longer.

Things I learned about Aaron 1. He doesn’t like it when I tell him what to do 2. He doesn’t like to throw away gift boxes and stray paper clips 3. Aaron’s Happenings Our second year of marriage has been a fun and challenging one! Our biggest challenge was finding a home, and after doing a respectable amount of hunting we have finally settled on a condo in Alhambra.

We always thought we would live in our Alhambra apartment and move back east, but we have grown to love the Ham Lyfe. I started a new job as a RN Clinical Analyst at Kindred Hospital San Gabriel Valley in West Covina while embarking on an online program at the University of Illinois at Chicago for a Master’s in Nursing Healthcare Informatics. I continue to lead music at church with various age groups and I teach 11th Grade Sunday School. I have been keeping busy with producing music for others and for my band, Earth To Jupiter. Our claim to fame is playing at the 626 Night Market on the Fourth of July. This summer, I am most excited for our upcoming trip to Japan and especially Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.

Jess’ Happenings Other than the whole moving deal, I am now an aunt.

My brother Preston and his wife Florence had their baby boy, Paxton, in February and he came into this world super cute. My parents moved out of their house of 10 years in Walnut and now live in Alhambra, so now I see my side of the family often. I’m still serving as a 1st Grade Sunday School teacher and elementary GA counselor at church. We just finished our 3rd summer of Arts Academy where I taught 1st-3rd graders how to make rain sticks and tambourines. I still enjoy teaching kids about God because they love to hear about Him. I personally started to letter a lot more and I am trying to practice and find my style. I also started taking photos and videos at my workplace since October, I was blessed to travel to Virginia, Canada, Boston, and Chicago. It was great to see so many places and interview people for my job. I’m enjoying videography and am learning how to do animation better. I hope to do more of these things in the future and to expand my skills.
