We have screenings of Puccini’s Turandot, from NT Live: The Deep Blue Sea (Terence Rattigan) & The Threepenny Opera (Bertolt Brecht & Kurt Weill’s famous musical).

RSC productions of Cymbeline, King Lear & The Tempest. And family entertainment with The Australian Ballet’s Fairytale Series: The Sleeping Beauty & Cinderella.

Festive celebrations commence with André Rieu’s Christmas concert and include Carols by Candlelight performed by the Locrian Ensemble.

The mischievous Father Christmas Needs a Wee is back for more family fun and Nicolas Allan, the author will be here at the Opera House signing copies of his book.

IN THE STUDIO Sikes and Nancy – adapted from Oliver Twist – this one man show enacts the compelling, physical and more grisly element of the notorious tale.

We will produce an in-house community production FOG! See what happens when Katharine Hepburn is stranded in Jersey during a foggy weekend.

Plays Rough continues as a hothouse of emerging talent and new writing – let’s hope another West End transfer is brewing, following the recent success of Leon Fleming’s SiD, which started its life in here at the Opera House Studio.

Elis is also committed to her research into finding more sustainable, economical ways to live here on earth and to finding kinder ways to treat our planet.

JEREMY HARDY LIVE 2016 Jeremy Hardy is in his fourth decade as a stand‑up this year. That’s a more dramatic way of saying he started 32 years ago and, without a lottery win, probably has at least another 32 years to go. In 2014, the tenth series of Jeremy Hardy Speaks to the Nation was broadcast on Radio 4.

He is also well known for his appearances on The News Quiz and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue. Indeed, Alan Bennett recently said he likes him “but he’s only on the radio”.

However, Jeremy isn’t only on the radio, his television credits include: Jack Dee’s Election Helpdesk (BBC2), QI (BBC1), Mock The Week (BBC2), Grumpy Old Men (BBC1), Back In The Day (BBC2), Not Tonight With John Sergeant (BBC2).

He is also on the road all year round and has never stopped doing live shows since 1984. After briefly hibernating in the winter, he’s back out on the road in 2016.

The 10th anniversary season starts with a concert of musical legends including the Sleeping Beauty Suite from Tchaikovsky’s melodic ballet, Berlioz’s love scene from his favourite masterpiece Romeo and Juliet, and the dramatic Firebird Suite, telling the tale of love against the odds which took the world by storm following the first performance in Paris one hundred years ago.

In Founder Victor Smirnov-Golovanov’s staging, all the hustle and bustle of Renaissance Verona is brought vividly to life in this fast-moving, powerful production. Faithful to Shakespeare’s original text, the ballet follows the fate of the star-crossed lovers from their first meeting to their untimely, tragic deaths.

Swan Lake is a signature piece of their entire repertoire. The orchestra, choreography, interpretation, beauty and outstanding virtuoso performances win repeatedly rave reviews.

Tickets can be posted for an extra charge of 70p.

• J ersey Opera House does not offer refunds unless in exceptional circumstances.

• F or a fee of £1 per ticket, tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same show, subject to availability and with at least 24 hours’ notice prior to the show.

• C oncessions are for children under 12, students, senior citizens and HIE recipients, unless otherwise stated.

• R eservations are held for up to one week prior to the performance before being automatically released for sale.

• W e reserve the right to change the cast without prior notification.

• W e reserve the right to refuse admission.

• L ate-comers may not be allowed access to the auditorium until a suitable point in the performance.

You’ll find us in Gloucester Street in St Helier, opposite the General Hospital. We’re a five-minute walk from the main town shopping area and the bus terminus, Liberation Station.

Buses coming from the west will bypass Gloucester Street. The closest stop to the theatre is on the Esplanade and about a 200-metre walk. Other routes will stop at Liberation Station which is a five-minute walk or taxis are available at terminus.
