PARTNERSHIPS WITH PURPOSE

Creating impactful corporate partnerships

“Anyone who has experienced the compassionate care demonstrated by Hospice’s dedicated staff and volunteers, can understand what makes it a much-loved, local charity. My colleagues are excited to help this vital community service and we are delighted to have the opportunity to give back and offer our support.”

Your Hospice

Jersey Hospice Care is an independent charity, and the island’s only hospice. For more than 40 years, we have been providing specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting conditions in our community. With an ageing population in Jersey, demand for our services, which are provided free of charge, are only set to increase.

Chances are, we all know someone who has been cared for or supported by Jersey Hospice Care. It could be a colleague, a friend or a family member. For employers, supporting your Hospice is supporting your employees and your community. Funds generated through our corporate partnerships ensure that we can continue to deliver vital care and support, when and where islanders need it.

Through our Bereavement and Emotional Support Service, we can also help organisations focus on the wellbeing of their teams, supporting employees through caring, grief and dying.

You’re the reason we can care.

1,820 home visits by our Specialist Palliative Care Team in 2023.

It costs more than £7 million a year to deliver our services.

Partnerships that deliver a difference

Many of our corporate partnerships are long-lasting and have grown over a number of years, whether that is through sponsorship, fundraising, donations or volunteering.

We care deeply about building meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships. Our aim is to partner effectively with our supporters to help you make a positive impact in your community as well as on your own team’s wellbeing and sense of purpose.

Make a real difference to local people.

Volunteering and fundraising for a charity your team is passionate about can inspire collective action and make a real difference in the community. It boosts confidence, reduces stress, and creates a sense of connection.

It also nurtures a strong sense of community and social responsibility, bringing people together for a common goal.

What better way for you to show you value your team and the community than by encouraging impactful involvement?

At the same time, your organisation will further develop its competitive edge by enhancing your reputation, expanding reach and creating positive brand awareness.

Be an employer of choice.

Meet your social responsibility objectives.

Meaningful collaboration is our main objective. We will work with you to create a partnership package to meet your specific objectives and philanthropic strategy.

“The word magical might be strange to understand but it was the most special time I’ve ever lived. The joy and kindness around held us strong until his death. I’ll always remember the warmth and friendship of the brilliant staff and the beauty of the place.”

Working together

How can you support us?

Each of our corporate partnerships are different. Everyone has their own individual reasons to support Hospice and we will work with you to ensure that together we maximise our partnership with purpose. Whether you are raising funds for a specific project, getting involved in an event or wanting to contribute to the £16,500 a day that it costs to deliver our services, you can be proud of the fact that you are making a direct impact.

Here are a few ideas of ways we can work together.

Charity of the year Corporate volunteering

Consider us as your charity of the year. From cake sales and quizzes to step challenges, dress down days and office games, we can support your efforts to help you create engaging events for your teams and to effectively promote your fundraising initiatives.

Support an event Payroll giving or match funding Donations and gifts in kind

We hold a number of our own challenges and events throughout the year, each tailored to help meet a variety of business goals and corporate social responsibility needs. From taking the lead as a headline sponsor to simply entering a team. Big or small, we welcome your support.

It takes more than 300 volunteers to keep Hospice running smoothly. We love seeing you in our gardens, in our shops or marshalling at events. It is proven that volunteering creates a huge sense of purpose, is great for confidence and encourages team building.

Take part in our lotteries, donate items to our shops, provide preloved equipment, auction items or raffle prizes, offer your services or place a tap to give machine or donation tin in your shop or office.

Our regular givers are really important to us and setting up monthly donations through payroll giving can be a quick and easy way to show your support. You can also consider match funding these donations – from which we will also benefit from the Jersey Gift Support Scheme.

Corporate grants

Does your company have a charitable foundation or trust? Corporate grants for a specific purpose are a fantastic and valuable source of funding.

Get creative! There are plenty of ways you can support us using your unique strengths and teams’ skills to develop a strong association between our organisations.

Working together

How can we support you?

In addition to the wellbeing benefits for your team and the philanthropic benefits to you as a business, there are many ways we can extend and enhance our partnership.

Brand recognition

We will work with you to maximise your brand exposure. You will feature on our website, in social media, on event materials, and in advertising and media coverage.

Education

We will help your employees to understand more about Jersey Hospice Care, what our services mean to our community and how to access them. We can also provide specialist training to help them deal with grief and bereavement.

Conference facilities

You can make use of our versatile conference rooms for off-site meetings or training days with refreshments or lunch.

Return on investment

Your donations, fundraising or sponsorship will make a direct impact on the services your Hospice is able to offer, and we can provide impact reports so you can share the news of your great work.

VG: A partnership with purpose

VG is one of Jersey’s largest privately-owned providers of private wealth, funds and corporate administration solutions. We started our partnership in 2022 to coincide with both organisations’ 40th anniversaries.

The team at VG felt that working with Hospice aligned with their desire to give back to the community and with their values and culture.

In recent years, we have directly provided care and support to members of their team and their families.

Initially, VG became the exclusive sponsor of the annual Dragon Boat Festival, something they had previously participated in several times. Their contribution enables us to make the Dragon Boat Festival bigger and better than ever, with more than 50 corporate and community teams taking part. It is now one of the largest events of its kind in the UK and a much-loved staple in the island’s community calendar.

In addition to their headline sponsorship, VG has supported Hospice in countless other ways. The annual VG Quiz of the Year regularly raises funds,

with 20 teams from other finance and professional services firms joining the fun.

Every month volunteers from VG spend time assisting at the Hospice shops or in our gardens. More than 90 team members have collectively given more than 260 hours of valuable volunteering time.

From football cards, to beach bingo, fluorescent Fridays, Christmas jumper days, and the Great Big VG Bake Off, VG has so far raised an incredible £20,000 on top of their sponsorship commitment.

The whole team at VG feel part of this incredible and successful partnership.

EY: Run for a great cause

The Hospice 2 Hospice Half Marathon has become a firm favourite in Jersey’s race calendar, thanks to the support provided by EY since 2023.

EY’s sponsorship covers and has helped the event grow significantly, with both the number of runners and the amount of money raised almost doubling. The event has raised more than £150,000 to date.

For EY, supporting their people and ensuring they prioritise their health and wellbeing is important. Therefore, supporting an event that not only reflects this commitment but also benefits the wellbeing of our local community, is the perfect fit for them.

Loraine Fulton, the Race Director and Volunteer Manager at Jersey Hospice Care, works closely with the team at EY to make the event bigger and better each year. Now an officially measured and licenced course by England Athletics and with additional relay races, the event is reaching more people than ever before.

EY’s team are actively involved in the event, with several members volunteering to marshal the course or crew one of the water stations. Then there is the growing team of EY runners who take part, all inspired to do their own fundraising in memory of a loved one, or to simply challenge themselves and to give something back to their community.

Maelle Smith, a Senior Manager at EY, even went on to run the London Marathon for Jersey Hospice Care, almost doubling her fundraising target and raising an amazing £4,655!
