Make a pirate sword 1. Choose a balloon. Inflate the modelling balloon with the balloon pump. Inflate it to nearly full length with about 3 cms spare at the bottom

2. Fold over about 15 cms of the top of the balloon 3. Using one hand, hold the fold, pinch and twist – you now have made the handle 4. Hold the long part of the balloon and squeeze with both hands to push all the air into the end of the balloon 5. Tuck the long end through the loop. Pull the balloon through the loop. Remember to leave enough for a handle underneath the loop 6. Shape the rest of the balloon into a curved blade by gently bending the balloon to mould it

Make a pirate hat 2 1. Start with a piece of paper 2. Fold the sheet of paper in half 3. Fold the top corners down towards the centre of the page. Your paper should look like this

4. Lift the front bottom flap and fold it up

5. Flip the paper over, then lift the bottom flap and fold it up 6. Use a sticker or some sellotape to stick the flaps down. Now decorate your Pirate Hat!

Make a treasure map 1. Mark where the buried treasure is with a big X

2. Draw a dotted line trail that winds around and maybe a title that says ‘Pirate Island’ and a North, South, East, West arrow in the corner. Once you’ve drawn the trail and X you can draw and label some ‘obstacles’ Some ideas are: l l l l

3. Scrunch it up then flatten it out again 4. You can roll the map up tie with ribbon or just hang it up on your wall
