Life’s Reflections

Mrs. Betty Jean Moore Wilson, a radiant soul born on February 23, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, was the cherished daughter of the late Mr. James Moore and Margaret Walker Moore. From an early age, she embraced her faith, accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior, which became the cornerstone of her life.

Betty was a proud graduate of Hamilton High School, Class of 1974, where her spirit shone brightly as a cheerleader, inspiring her peers and participating in numerous events that showcased her vibrant personality. On October 6, 1983, she married her beloved husband, Mr. Robert Mitchell Wilson in Indianapolis, Indiana, starting a journey filled with love and devotion.

A steadfast member of Central Baptist Church in Lilburn, Georgia, Betty’s faith was reflected in her warm heart and generous spirit. She embraced life with a passion for all the colors of the rainbow, finding joy in the little things and spreading love to everyone around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. James Moore, Sr. and Margaret Walker Moore, her brothers, James Moore, Williams Moore, and Robert Moore.

On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, her heavenly Father welcomed her home to eternal rest at her residence in Buford, Georgia. While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the beautiful legacy Betty leaves behind. Her memory will forever be cherished by her beloved, husband Mr. Robert (Mitch) Wilson, their son, Nico Lashawn Hale; her sister, Forestine Jefferson; her brother, Gary Moore; her precious granddaughter, Tyna; and her very special goddaughter, India Ann Bracks.

Betty’s life was a testament to love, faith, and joy. She will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

The Broken Chain

We knew that you were gone, But our hearts still feel your presence near. A bond that time can’t sever, A love that’s always clear.

Though we walk this path alone, Your spirit shines like the morning sun. In every laugh, in every tear, Your legacy lives on, never done.

We may feel a little lost, With an ache we can’t explain. But in the memories we hold dear, We find you in the joy and pain.

A chain that links us, heart to heart, Though one link may now be free, We carry you within our souls, Forever part of you is part of me.

So as we gather, hand in hand, We celebrate the life you led. In every story, every prayer, Your love surrounds us, never dead.

Though the chain may seem broken, Its strength will never wane, For love transcends all boundaries, And in our hearts, you’ll always remain.

Recessional

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Pastor Marvin C. Jones, Officiating
