Expansion Update The expansion is well underway as this bird’s eye view shows as of Monday, October 20th.
My father and grandfather made a major shift in business strategy in 1965. They decided, after 18 years of operating as a soda fountain / drive through restaurant, to change Jerrol’s business model and become a “University Bookstore” . There were many reasons that factored into their decision—a major one being the planned opening of I-90 between Vantage and Cle Elum. When opened in 1967, I-90 routed traffic around Ellensburg, instead of right past our front door on old US Highway 10.

By this time this newsletter arrives, we should have a roof over our heads and be almost done with our new sidewalks, curbs, and alley paving. The existing parking lot on the east side of the building is now configured for entrance via the ally and University Way.
After almost 50 years of being primarily thought of as a “University Bookstore” by most of our clients, but probably NOT you, the time has come to make another major change for our future. As you know, Jerrol’s is far more than primarily a place for students looking to purchase textbooks. In fact, most students purchase books online or do not purchase books at all due to the extremely high price—some over $300!!!

As we look at you, our loyal client, and the reasons you choose and think of Jerrol’s, we have concluded that you think of Jerrol’s as your source for Productivity, Creativity and Learning. It boils down to being a place for people who THINK.
The goal is to be in the new building on January 1st and to have Winegars Home Made Ice Cream & Coffee open by February 1st. Read more about our changes on page 3
