Crossed Cascade Chandelier Designed is 2015, one of Hobdy’s very first lighting designs, the Crossed Cascade Chandelier offered a structured glass ceiling fixture to the Anthropoligie customer.

Retailing for $329, this piece offered an extremely high perceived value to the customer decortaing his or her curated home on a budget.

02 Pearl LED Collection

Pearl LED Collection

Inspired by a perfect, natural pearl earring, the Pearl LED Collection blended a mixed material feminine aesthetic with LED technology. Often perceived as harsh light quality with glare, the design goal was to offer an energy efficient yet highly stylized collection with a novelty flare.

All fixtures are offered in a white as well as peach luster glass with brushed brass hardware.

Designed in 2017, this collection is still available.

Bisected Orbs LED Collection

03 Bisected Orbs LED Collection Designed in 2017 to explore the possibilities of LED use in sculptural lighting for retail, the Bisected Orb Collection was developed for the Anthropologie customer. Alongside other more traditional silhouettes that would be retrofitted to house LED components and bulbs, this collection’s goal was to create forms that could in fact only be achieved by utilizing elongated modules of LED nodes.

Each format reduces the glare of the LED nodes by housing a phosphorus coated acrylic cover. This creates a soft, diffuse light that simply allows the sculptural fixtures to glow yet still provide adequately bright lumens.

Bumblebee Collection Seen above are the original “item” table lamp and the bathroom vanity fixture from the Bumblebee Collection.

Offered as a wall sconce as well, the collection began as a single novelty table lamp. Frankly designed as an “I told you so” piece to prove to the President of Anthropologie Home that the customer in fact did want novelty in lighting, the Bumblebee Lamp was a buzz about town! Selling through faster than expected the wall sconce and bathroom vanities were quickly added.

The Indira Collection small & large Pendants In response to mass manufacturing driving the Thathera brass artisans of Northern India to seek other forms of income, I alongside a private philanthropist, set out to conceive a collection focused on the specific skills and tools of the Thathera tradition to bring their art form to purveyors of bespoke luxury furniture and lighting.

Shown in May 2018 at the ICFF in Manhattan, the collection was featured in several press outlets as “the next evolution of preserving ancient craftsmanship from phases of industrialization�.

Salma Collection (sconce)

07 Salma Sconce Simple, shapely, designed in 2015, sold to present.

A core design that every brand needs a version of in its assortment, the Salma collection is offered in a vareity of transparent glass hues.

Madelyn Collection

Madelyn Collection Crafted in delicate capiz shell, the artisan hands that shape the Madelyn Collection create a mixed material group inspired by Art Deco lines and arches.

Offered in two hues: ivory and peach, the collection is available in a large and small chandlier, (the large seen above), a flush mount (also seen above) as well as a sconce, table lamp and bath vanity fixture.

This group was designed in 2017 for Anthropologie Home.

Abstract Globe Chandelier Inspired by jewelry, the way a necklace moves, the dangle of a bracelet or hanging of an earring, the Abstract Globe captures movement inspird by these moments of personal decoration and scales up the glamor for a room.

Delicate in form yet determined by a dedication to engineering balance in the chandelier’s asymmetry, the fixture adds a simple elegance to a space.

Longmont Chandeliers The ďŹ rst commercially produced lighting designs Hobdy created were the two sizes of Longmont Chandeliers. These were designed and developed while interning for renowned lighting showroom Currey and Company.

The Longmont Chandliers were shown and sold in Currey and Company showrooms at High Point Market, the Atlanta Americas Mart, the Dallas Market and Las Vegas in 2014.
