Relaxed Performance Package 'Cinderella 2019' Saturday 21st December 2019 11am at The Ffrwnes Theatre, Llanelli

This specifically designed Relaxed Performance of Cinderella hosted by Theatrau Sir Gar and Jermin Productions is to welcome people into the world of Pantomime who will benefit from a more relaxed performance environment. Audiences who may prefer this type of performance may include people Autism Spectrum Condition, sensory and communication disorders or a learning disability. There is a relaxed attitude to involuntary noises and movement from audience members within the auditorium.

For our Relaxed Performance there will be small changes to elements of the production to reduce the intensity of the Pantomime production. Lighting and Sound levels are adjusted to soften their impact for a more enjoyable and relaxed environment for all who attend.Â

We hope this information package with help prepare you for your trip to the theatre and give you an idea of what to expect.Â

We are delighted to be welcoming you to The Ffwrnes Theatre also known as 'Y Ffwrnes' for Jermin Productions' 2019 Pantomime!

Jermin Productions are a production company based in South Wales who have previously produced titles such as Aladdin, Jack and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington, Sleeping Beauty and Beauty and the Beast.

If you are reading this, it means you have chosen to attend our Relaxed Performance of this years pantomime, Cinderella. We are very pleased that you have chosen to join Jermin Productions this festive season and look forward to welocming you to the Theatre this Christmas.

What is a Relaxed Performance?

A Relaxed Performance is designed to create a relaxed and tolerable theatre environment for those who may find it difficult to attend the theatre otherwise.

In a Relaxed Performance the production is altered to reduce any stress or anxiety which the performance may cause, and the lighting and sound elements of the production are softened to lesson their impact. Audience members are encouraged to move freely around the auditorium and designated 'Chill Out Zones' during the performance and there is a relaxed attitude towards noise.

Our Relaxed Performance is our Pantomime, Cinderella, which has been adapted in various ways to make it suitable for our relaxed audiences.

About The Ffwrnes Theatre

Y Ffwrnes is a large grey building with colourful windows and doors. There is one entrance to the Theatre which is through the main doors in the middle of the building.

These doors have a bright red frame.

When you walk through the doors you will enter into the main foyer of the Theatre.

The Foyer of the theatre is a big space where everyone will meet before the show begins.

When you walk into the Foyer you will see a big flight of stairs in front of you.

If you look to the right you will see the Box Office.

The colour you will see most in The Ffwrnes Theatre is the colour orange.

At the Box Office you will find staff who work at The Ffwrnes Theatre who will help you collect your tickets and also show you to your seats in the theatre. These staff are all very friendly and will be happy to help you with any requests or special requirements.

This is the downstairs bar at The Ffwrnes Theatre.

If you want to get a drink or a snack before the show begins you can do so  here.Â

You will find the ground floor toilets to the back of the Bar .

During the show, the downstairs bar will be used as the designated 'Chill Out Zone' . Audience members are able to come and go as they wish. During the show if you feel you need to get away from the action and go somewhere calm, you will be able to go here.

Befrore the show, the foyer will get very busy, This is where everyone will be waiting to go into the auditorium.

Our show begins at 11am which means the doors for the auditorium will open at 10:30am.

If you do not like busy spaces we suggest you arrive to the theatre around 10:45am when most people will have entered the auditorium and left the foyer,

Acessibility The team of staff at The Ffwrnes Theatre and Jermin Productions are committed to making your visit as easy as possible.

Wheelchair Users:The theatre have allocated spaces for wheelchair users in the Ffwrnes Main House where the Pantomime will take place. Please contact the Box Office for more information.

Accessible Toilets: The theatre have accessible toilets throughout the Ffwrnes on all levels.

Hearing Impaired: An infrared hearing assistance system is in place throughout the building.

Guide Dogs: The theatre welcomes Guide Dogs. Please inform the Box Office when booking your tickets, and they will be able to advise you on your seating allocation.

The Performance Before the show there is an audio announcement that lets the audience know that the auditorium is ready to enter . During a Relaxed Performance the volume will be kept considerably lower and only necessary announcements will be made.

Jermin Productions performance of Cinderella will be performed in The Main House. The Main House is the biggest performance space in Y Ffwrnes and is a fully accessible traditional theatre facility.

Entry to The Main Room is through one door in the Foyer of The Ffwrnes Theatre. Staff from Y Ffwrnes will show you where this door is.

The Main Theatre The Pantomime performance will take place in the Main Theatre which is a large room with lots of seats. All seats are facing the stage, this is where the actors will sing, dance, act and perform. At no point will the characters enter the audience.

Find your seats!

Do you know where you are sitting? Find your seats on the diagram below and plan your route to your seats!

Inside The Auditorium When you enter The Main Room the lights will be on nice and bright, this is because you will need to find your seat.

Your seat number is shown on your ticket and is indicated by a letter and a number (eg. J4, D9, C6). The letter indicates the row of seats you need to find, and the number means the seat in that row. Staff from The Ffwrnes Theatre will be on hand to make this process as easy as possible.

Although sometimes is can be very noisy when the audience enter the auditorium as every is very excited to see the show. Maybe you would like to bring ear defenders along with you, or a toy to play with in your seat as you wait.

Before The Show Starts Ten minutes before the show starts, the cast of Cinderella will come out onto stage to say hello. This is to remind you that although what will happen on stage will seem very real, the cast are just actors having fun telling you a magical story through words, song and dance.

Each person on stage will introduce themselves as actors and as their character. Remember, the baddies in the show aren't really nasty people, just fantastic actors.

Each actor will talk through their costumes changes during the show, as some of them can be very bright and colourful; especially those Ugly Sisters!

Also any big surprises in the show will be explained to you by a member of cast - we know that surprises aren't everybody's cup of tea.

After this, the cast of Cinderella will come out into the audience to meet you.

You do not have to speak to them if you do not want to, and they will not approach you. If you want to say Hello to Cinders, give JJ a big HIGH 5 or take a look at the Uglies crazy costumes then it is your choice.

Meet Cinderella!

Hello Everybody! My name is Nicole, and in the show you are going to watch this Christmas I play the lead role of Cinderella.

Cinderella lives with her two step-sisters who arent very nice. But then she meets Prince Charming and all her dreams come true!

As Cinderella I start the show in an old dress and rags, this is what I wear when I clean for my step-sisters. They make me scrub the floor and polish to castle from top to bottom.

When I meet the Fairy Godmother she transforms my dress into a beautiful ball gown which I then wear to the Royal Ball.

Along the way I accidentally lose my glass slipper, will you help me find it?

Cinderella is a very happy  character and loves to smile, I hope I make you smile whenever I come on stage.

Meet JJ! Whay-hey! Hello you lot! I'm Adam and I get to have loads of fun on stage playing JJ!

I am no stranger to the stage as I have appeared in every Jermin Production Pantomime since the very beginning so if you have been to watch a Jermin Production Pantomime before, you'll be able to see me again this Christmas!

Some of you may have even gone to his birthday party this year!

JJ is a really silly character who likes to play pranks and make lots of jokes!

Throughout the show, I may do lots of funny things like riding a scooter, play with water pistols and bring on his very special friend JUNIOR JJ. In the traditional story of Cinderella, her best friend is called Buttons. However this is a very special pantomime, and I get to be Cinderella's best friend in the whole wide world!

Boys and girls, I love making friends so during the show I will ask YOU to be my best friends!

Junior J looks like this! After the show you can buy your very own Junior J puppet to take home with you, he can be your new best friend!

Meet The Ugly Sisters!

In our show of Cinderella we have TWO Ugly Step-Sisters who are performed by Jordan Bateman and Ryan Edmunds. In the story, these Ugly Sisters are not very nice ot Cinderella but in the end Cinderella, witht he help of the magical Faiy Godmother teaches the Ugly Sisters how to be good and kind.

Well hello there! My name is Jordan and I get to be one half of the Ugly Sisters!

Hello everybody! I am Ryan and I am delighted to be the other half of the Ugly Sisters!

Underneath our wigs, make-up and eye-lashes we are men but for this show of Cinderella we will be playing Cinderella's Ugly Set-Sisters meaning we have to dress up as women.

In every Pantomime there is a role of 'The Dame' who is always a comedy role played by a man dressed up as a woman.

We have so much fun wearing all the glittery Ugly Sister costumes. We will warn you, some of our costumes are VERY colourful and bright.

Meet The Fairy Godmother!

My name is Bethan and I will be playing the role of the Fairy Godmother in this Pantomime production. This is me before I get into character.

My character has a magic wand which allows me to make magic spells live on stage. I am a good fairy meaning that I use my magic to spread kindness and love.

In this Pantomime, I use my magic to help transform Cinderella into a princess so that she can fall in love with the Prince.

I also use my magic to stop the Ugly Sisters from being mean to Cinderella and help them be good and kind.

Throughout the show I will have glittery dressing on and will also carry a wand. Here are some pictures of some of our previous Fairy Godmother costumes.

Meet Prince Charming!

Hello! My name is Lewis and this Christmas I will be playing the role of Prince Charming in the Pantomime you are about to watch.

In the show, I fall in love with Cinderella and inivte her to attend a glamorous party at my palace.

Cinderella runs out of the party in a rush and leaves without telling me her name but she does leave behind a glass slipper.

To find Cinderella I search the land to find the person who owns the shoe. Eventually I find Cinderella and we fall in love, living happily ever after.

Throughout the whole show I will be dressed like royalty and will have a more glamorous cosutme for the royal ball.

Meet the Dancers!

In a Pantomime there are always a group of people on stage who are dancers. These dancers also act as 'Villagers' who interact with the main characters on stage.

In Cinderella, all of our Dancers are from the local South Wales area. We are so proud to include members of the local community in our Pantomime and give young performers the chance to gain a professional credit.

In this show, we have a total of 16 main dancers as well as a small group of ensemble performers. At each show there will be 8 younger dancers and eight older dancers. In each dance routine, the dancers will be wearing different costumes.

The Story of Cinderella!

Here is a simple summary of the story of Cinderella. It's important to remember that the actors on stage are playing parts to tell the story. So if anyone is being nasty, looks upset or appears to be hurt, don't worry - they're only pretending!

Cinderella live at home with her ill-mannered and evil Step-Sisters who have always eben nasty to Cinderella and made her clean up all of thier mess after them. They make Cinderella do all the chores around the house and don't let her have any fun.

One day the Prince hosts a Royal Ball and invites every girl in the land. When the Ugly Sisters hear about this they rip up Cinderella's dress to make sure that she is unable to attend the party. With the help of the magical Fairy Godmother, Cinderella's ripped dress transforms into a beautiful ball gown and her pumpkin into a golden carriage. This spell only lasts until the clock strikes midnight so Cinderella had to run out of the castle before the magic disappeared. While in a rush, Cinderella left behind her class slipper and the Prince used this to find the girl he met at the ball, his one true love, Cinderella.

The Prince visited every girl in the land to see if the glass slipper fitted their foot. Eventually the Prince found Cinderella locked in the castle cupboard after the Ugly Sisters had tried to hide her away. Cinderella because a Princess and married the Royal Prince before living happily ever after.

Information about the Performance Jermin Productions 'Cinderella' is a fun filled festive adventure full of slap stick silliness and sensational surprises.

There will be plenty of chances for you to interact with our characters during the performance, so make sure your voices are nice and loud! In this Pantomime we encourage our audience members to shout, sing and dance along with the cast as much as they can.

Amongst the fun, there are a few things we have done to make sure everyone in our audience is comfortable throughout the show:

The house lights will be kept at 50% so its not too dark.

Sound levels will be adjusted to soften their impact and create a more enjoyable and relaxed environment.

All loud noises and explosions are taken out entirely.

The running time of this show is 2 Hours 15 minutes and is split into TWO acts meaning that all audience members will have a short break in the middle of the show.

Post Performance At the end of the show you are welcome to clap and cheer during what is called 'the curtain call' we will even encourage you to sing and dance along with us while the actors take their bow.

Once the curtains close on stage, this means the show is over and its is time to put on your coats and leave the auditorium.

When you leave the auditorium and go back out into the foyer, the actors will be stood in their costumes around the room. If you would like to take pictures with them,give them a big HIGH 5 or even just say hello you can do this now.

But don't worry, no one will approach you, so if you just want to leave quietly you are able to do so.

Also dancers from the show will be stood by the doors with Charity Buckets which may make a big noise if they are shook, but we will do our best to keep these nice and still. These buckets are where we collect the audiences donations for our chosen charity.
