Halcyon Berwick Good Friday Appeal fundraiser began as an idea from Frank Lagatta, and it quickly gained momentum as volunteers stepped up to offer their services and goods. Since then, it has continued to grow!
A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated, contributed their time, and put in effort to support this important cause.
Join Us for a Fun-Filled Good Friday!
We’re excited to host a fantastic day featuring Breakfast, a Pool Competition, a Games Competition, and Lunch! Add in a Live Auction of donated goods and services for fun!
To help us make the event as smooth and successful as possible, please ensure all activities and meals are registered and paid for by April 11th. This allows us to minimize waste and maximize our fundraising efforts for this great cause.
Your registration and breakfast orders must be submitted by April 11th so we can properly prepare for the games and food.
Thank you for your support! We are all happily volunteering our time and energy to make this event a success, and we truly appreciate your cooperation in making everything run smoothly.
We have exciting plans for next year! Due to time constraints, we're kicking things off with the competitions and meals this year, starting small with plenty of room to grow in 2026.
POOL COMPETITION
Anyone has the chance to win! If you enter!
RULES
• Open to all homeowners, male and female.
• All players to play each other and must be available for the duration of the completion.
• Players must sink all balls to win 8 points).
• Loser will be penalised on remaining balls on table, if any.
• If deciding game black is missed or white is accidentally pocketed, then there will only be 7 points.
• Snookers (Frankies) will be allowed.
• The person with the highest points will be the winner.
• The winner will receive a prize and a plaque.
All talent welcome as it is a round robin with anyone having the chance to win. There is still time to practice, the tables are there 24/7 plus the pool club.
If you feel you can do with a refresher, chat to any of the pool club members, or Frank can suggest someone.
Get Ready for Some Friendly Competition!
We’re thrilled to offer two fantastic games for you to compete in: Mexican Train and Rummikub!
Mexican Train
• Play the full 13 rounds with scoring.
• The goal? End with the lowest score! The winner of each round gets zero points, while others tally up their remaining tiles.
• At the end, the player with the least points at their table is declared the winner!
• Played with similar scoring rules as Mexican Train.
• Each round’s winner gets zero points, while others count and tally their remaining tiles.
• The lowest overall score at each table wins!
Important Details for both games
Once the games begin, no additional players can join so be sure to arrive on time even if you're registered!
Each table will need a designated scorer to help keep track. Once registrations are finalized, table assignments will be made. To keep things fair and fun, the game rules are final and won’t be up for discussion. If you miss a round or leave early you forfeit.
There will be breaks for drinks, bathroom breaks, just arrange it with your table between games.
We can’t wait to see some great strategy, friendly competition, and lots of fun! Let the games begin!
