The harder (compression) the foam does not necessarily indicate a better quality. The K 126 foam has a compression range of 115-125lbs. (52-62 kg), but a density of only 2lbs./cubic foot (0.032 g/cubic cm). While this is the hardest foam on the list, the UltraCell is a better choice for seating in high quality furniture. The K 126 has great characteristics in terms of compression and is a specialized foam for applications such as lining instrument cases. Density is a better measurement of the quality of foam product. By engineering the compounds carefully it is possible to achieve different compressions in the same density, giving a range of feel and cushioning.
