Established by friends, family members and Austin Prep faculty in memory of Frank McCarthy, a beloved faculty member atAustin Prep. He was instrumental in the implementation of process writing and peer editing inAustin Prep’s curriculum.

The Francis G. McCarthy Writing Center, named in his memory, allows students to share, discuss, and critique each other’s work with ease on any type of written assignment. Contributions to the fund go toward improvements and updates to the Writing Center.
