Elaine Hendrix Through hard work, diversity, and a creative prowess all her own, screen gem Elaine Hendrix is said to have “earned her stripes” by legendary film critic Roger Ebert, having over 100 film, television, and stage credits under her belt. Elaine can currently be seen starring in the hit FX music comedy “Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.” The series created, written by, and also starring Denis Leary, centers on Johnny Rock (Leary), the lead singer of NYC’s legendary early-’90s band The Heathens, who is trying to get both his band and his life back together. Elaine plays Ava, Johnny Rocks’ longtime love and backup singer/percussionist for The Heathens. Ava has stuck by Johnny Rock’s side through thick and thin, and now with his new lease on life, Ava is hoping her and Johnny can finally start the family she’s always wanted. The role of Ava was rewritten, and then tailored for Elaine, when Denis Leary discovered firsthand her range as an actress and singer. Although her resume reads like a Hollywood encyclopedia, Elaine is best known for her dynamic roles in such films as Disney’s The Parent Trap, Inspector Gadget 2 (for which her character has four collectable Happy Meal toys,) SNL’s Superstar, What the Bleep Do We Know?, and the cult classic Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion. Her television projects include “Transparent," “Maron," “Castle," "Criminal Minds," "Two and a Half Men," “NCIS: Los Angeles.” She also had recurring roles on “Mistresses," and "Anger Management" as well as two years on the critically acclaimed CBS series "Joan of Arcadia.” In addition to her mainstream body of work, Elaine has starred in a notable list of diverse independent films which include Dear Lemon Lima, Spork, Hated, Good Intentions and the multi-award winning Coffee Date. She received critical acclaim at the Austin Film Festival for her dramatic portrayal of “Patsy Wallrath” in the indie film Deep in the Heart. Showing her reach as an actress, Elaine made her New York theater debut in the Off-Broadway play It’s Just
