Actually, it was all of your names. You. The Participants. You are the reason we put our hearts into making the Jamboree Nationals the best they can be. How to win? Just get the crowd to stand up and cheer the biggest, smokiest, loudest and nastiest burnout before the judges blow the horn. It’s always good to check the wind direction when you go to watch and cheer — so you’ll be in the middle of the most tire smoke, of course!

Hit the gas, dive in, and keep going. Sounds simple enough, but when the mud is sticky and deep, it’s not so easy. We have multiple classes starting with not-far-from-the-street 4x4s to serious, purpose-built, paddle-tired mega-machines. In the end, however, it’s about speed and distance…and of course getting really, really dirty. Be sure to stand up and cheer for the ones who make it all the way — Mud Bogs are back at all three Jamborees this year!

Mighty Monster Bus What is it like to take a run on 5-and-a half-foot-tall tires in a roaring, twisting, high-powered Monster Truck? Well, grab the kids and find out aboard Mighty Monster Bus. Show-N-Shine At the heart of the Lucas Oil 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals series is Dick Cepek Tires Show-nShine. fox shox proving ground FOX wants to know if you’ve got what it takes — so PROVE IT, on the FOX SHOX Proving Grounds returning to all Jamborees in 2015.

FOX will have an area along the cruise route at each Jamboree designed for participants to test their shocks on a man-made obstacle course as they cruise the show.

TOUGH TRUCKs CHALLENGE

Flat-out over jumps, power-sliding through tight turns, pushing a truck to the most punishing limit at full speed. That’s what the Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks® Challenge is all about. The speed and sophistication increase with each class from stock to pro, but great mechanical skill, guts and determination come with every truck taking to the course.

Mud Drags The NMRO Mud Drags will show you what happens when high-powered dragsters launch across a special wet-dirt course.

The pro classes cover the distance in the blink of an eye in their barely tamed snarling rides. And once they hit the finish line, then the really hard job happens...getting ’em stopped again.

At this year’s Jamborees we are happy to welcome back Raminator and Rammunition from the Hall Brothers Racing team, and congratulate driver Mark Hall for setting the Guinness World Record for the Fastest Speed for a Monster Truck. The RAM-sponsored Raminator traveled to the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, for the attempt. The old record was 96.8 mph.

Mark put his foot to the floor and smashed that old record, establishing a new record speed of 99.1 mph. Tim Hall, who is president and crew chief for Hall Brothers Racing, said: “Taking on the challenge of breaking a world record has been an experience we will never forget. With the support of RAM and MOPAR, we continue to add to our achievements and are honored to now be a Guinness World Records holder.”

If you’ve always wanted to put your ride on the NMRO Mud Drag course, now you can. Just head to the infield tech trailer, join the NMRO, and you can “run what you brung.” Who knows? You might even pick up a trophy if you’re among the quickest in the new Fun Run class.

Who doesn’t like playing in the mud? It’s one of the most fun things about owning a 4x4. You can get really dirty and test your ride at the same time. Oh yeah…really…really…dirty. We’re mixing up the stickiest, muddiest challenge bogs at each of our Lucas Oil 4-Wheel Jamboree Nationals this year. We make the mud; you drive into it. Make it out, and you will have that special “I made it” feeling and get the cheers of the crowd. We have classes for everyone from the “for fun only” to the series extreme competition machines. I installed 5.38 gears in the axles. I have chrome shocks, powder-coated axles, carbon-fiber-dipped exterior and interior pieces, 4-inch stainless-steel Bully Dog exhaust, painted mirrors, drive shafts, and bumpers that color-match the vehicle colors, and holes in the frame are filled and painted. The back section of the frame has a vinyl-wrap tribute to my father, who passed away in 2007. I also installed Harley headlights, Recon taillights and a third brake light.

How long have you been attending the Jamborees? 15 years What is your Favorite part about attending the Jamborees? I enjoy looking at awesome trucks. It is great hanging out with wonderful friends, and meeting new ones. I also enjoy viewing the events at the Jamboree.

What awards have you won at the Jambos? I have won numerous Best Ford, as well as Best Interior, Best Engine Compartment, and in 2014 in Springfield, Missouri, I won Grand Champion.

What is your daily driver at home? 2013 Ford F-350 Superduty 4x4, which tows the 2002 show truck to the 4x4 Jamborees.

How long have you been coming to the Jamborees? 20 years What is your favorite part about racing at the Jamboree? We love the fans and getting to put on a show for them, as well as interacting with them as they come through the pits.

How did you get into the sport? We started out racing a stock truck and gradually worked our way to the faster classes throughout the years.

Why do you love the sport? We love the competition. The challenge of tuning the rail to all the different tracks is always a learning experience.

We also love all the racers we have met throughout the years — the friendly competition has come to form somewhat of a second family, a track family some might say.

What’s your favorite Jamboree memory? My favorite memory so far was sweeping the championship in both class 5 and 6 this past season (2014). It was definitely a great reward for all our hard work throughout the season.

What’s a fun and interesting fact about yourself? I have a great team, which consists of my wife and daughters.

How long have you been coming to the Jamborees? My first Jamboree was 1990, so this year would make 25 years.

How many different Jamborees have you been to, and which ones? I am a regular at the Bloomsburg 4-Wheel Jamboree since I’m a PA native. However I’ve been to Indianapolis once, and hope to do so again this year.

Favorite Jamboree feature and why? I would have to say the variety of things a truck or 4x4 fan can enjoy. Fans can look at show trucks, but also watch mud racing, monster trucks, and look at new items to make their vehicle better. There’s not one main focus.

There’s something for everyone to enjoy.

What is your favorite memory from the Jamborees? That’s tough because a new one happens each year. For a long time I got recognized at these shows because of artwork I would bring for the drivers of the monsters to autograph, and many became great friends.

Now, I do the artwork not for me, but for them. Mark Hall has one, Dave Radzierez as well. Last year Dan Runte and Larry Swim each got one of their trucks, and wanted to have me pose for photos with them including the pieces. We never got to make that happen because of time and the team working on the trucks. I’m going to make up for it though!

Tell us about your coverage of the Jamborees on your website, AllAboutHorsepower.com: Originally I did it just because the platform my site is on, Fan Vs. Fan, had little coverage of the sport.

In 2011, I took a shot with the Jamboree coverage. Suddenly Family Events recognized the pieces and began sharing them on Facebook and Twitter. I first got to be “in the know” at the Jamborees beginning at Indianapolis that year, and it has just grown each year. This year is my fifth season of full coverage, and I’m eager to give the fans who cannot make the Jamborees a feeling as if they are right there in the stands.
