Our Story

Contact Information

My son, a veteran K9 Police Officer, worked as a contractor with the Department of the Army as a bomb dog handler and served two tours in Iraq. His return home with PTSD really hit home to our family. After two years of research on canine assistance for PTSD, we decided the best way we could help these deserving troops and veterans was to start a non-profit to train and give service canines to assist our American Warriors’ efforts to return to civilian life with dignity and independence. It is our hope and prayer that we can help our American Warriors with the assistance of a “forever” partner. God Bless our Military and their families.

Our Service Dog Program Service canines are a proven medical aid for treatment and recovery from Post Traumatic Stress where medications often fail. They are considered medical equipment and are recognized by the American Disabilities Act of 1990, an agency of the US Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. At K9s For Warriors, we pair carefully vetted rescue dogs that are given a new leash on life as a service dog for a deserving American Warrior. Our canines are trained at our facility by our certified trainers prior to placement with their new partners. When our warriors arrive at our campus for their three week, 120 hour academy, they are greeted by the new forever partner and move into our “Dog House”. At our K9 Academy every warrior is provided with a canine, training, certification, equipment, housing, meals, vet care and teaching manuals all at no cost to the warrior. With your help, K9s For Warriors will train over thirty-eight teams this year. Our training and housing academy is located in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The cost for each placement is approximately $11,000.00 per warrior/canine team.
