PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Reflecting on BOMA Utah 2012 opportunities to be recognized on various levels within the community, State and Federal Governments because of our Committees and their hard work and dedication. Of course, it takes time to build the necessary relationships, but our Committee leaders and their members are unselfishly taking it upon themselves to help make BOMA Utah an Association to be proud of, and I thank them for that.

I am so grateful for the BOMA Members who have stepped up and agreed to lead our Association. It is my goal for 2013 to embrace all our Committee’s efforts and ensure they have the support they need. Joining a Committee is easy, sign-ups will begin at the November luncheon, however making a difference is what takes time. As I reflect on this year and BOMA Utah, its leadership, member involvement and support, I am truly in awe of the progress we’ve made together as an Association. Our Committee leaders are taking an active role in their duties and bringing their Committee members together; not just for the benefit of themselves or their Committee, but for BOMA as a whole. I tell a story of the, “Regular” member I once was. I would attend the monthly luncheons, sit with my co-workers, then go back to the office. I didn’t benefit from BOMA, it was just an opportunity to get out of the office for a lunch once a month. Deciding I wanted more from my membership, I began interacting with other Property Managers and Vendors; became an active and involved member, and soon, President of this amazing organization. As an Association, we have had fabulous
