If you have a submersible pump, you know that it’s a reliable and efficient way to move water. But like all mechanical products, submersible pumps can break down and need repair. Luckily, there are some easy tips you can follow to help you fix your submersible pump yourself.
BY MARK WOOD1. Check the power supply first. If the pump isn’t getting power, that could be the reason it’s not working. Check the circuit breaker or fuse box to make sure the power is on.
2. Next, check for obstructions in the water intake screen or discharge pipe. If there are any blockages, clear them out so the water can flow freely again.
3. If the pump still isn’t working, open it up and inspect the impeller (the rotating piece that moves water through the pump). Make sure there aren’t any cracks or damage that would prevent it from rotating properly.
4. Once you ’ ve checked all of these things, if the pump still isn’t working properly, it’s time to call a professional for help.
