At Jefferson Center, our Youth Enrichment and Arts Education Programs have created a model of experiential learning, intentionally designed to teach not only music, but life skills through music. We are a partner in preparing local youth for future education and careers. Our programs play an important role in our students’ lives, enabling them to become the wellrounded individuals who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Connecting and aligning with our performance season, our Artist Mentorship program provides students and world-class musicians access to each other. Concert artists who perform on our stages spend off-stage hours with students who learn from their disciplines and experiences. Some are engaged in multi-day sessions and long-term projects where “artists-in-residence” work on a project with students to produce music, creating life-changing experiences for area children and inspiring future career aspirations in many.

“When I go to make a new song, I can think about the process that has gone on here and feel more confident about my writing.” -Sterling Hall Artist Residency Student
