Chemical and material storage and use (compatibility, containers, gas cylinders, smoking, fire extinguishers, PPE) 18. Discovery of unknown chemicals (leaking, sparks, down-wind, PPE, notify environmental) 19. Other potential hazards (cuts, heat stress, animal/insect bites, sprains/strains) 20. Refrigeration and air condition equipment (properly recover refrigerants (Freon) from a/c units, vending machines, water coolers, and freezers.) 21. Lighting (remove and recover fluorescent light bulbs (mercury), old thermostats) C. Assessment, Cleanup, and Repair of Structures (including picnic shelters, fences, etc.) 1. Structural instability (shore/brace walls and/or floor, repair from top floor down) 2. Contact with downed lines and live electrical equipment and other utilities, e.g., gas, water (lines contacting other objects, notify NAVFAC) 3. Falls from heights or through openings (use fall protection/qualified personnel, structural damage 4. Unsecured hazards in the work area (hard hats, steel toe shoes and gloves) 5. Improper ladder or scaffold use (stable surfaces, power lines) 6. General heavy equipment operation (operators trained) 7. Power and hand tool use (condition/grounded, wet surfaces) 8. Generator use (not into electrical system, overload, CO, ventilation, PPE) 9. Silica, mold, nuisance dust, dried mud, or silt (stay upwind from dust generators, PPE, employee monitoring) 10. Asbestos (check NAVFAC records, qualified workers, keep wet, notify environmental) 11. Lead (painted surfaces, pipes, PPE, qualified workers, employee monitoring, notify environmental) 12. Welding, cutting, and burning (flammable/combustible material/chemicals, fier extinguisher, exhaust) 13. Noise (chain saws, generators) 14. Exposure to contaminated water and/or floodwaters (rubber boots & plastic gloves, practice personal hygiene) 15. Confined spaces (space that normally not a confined space, decomposing organic matter, testing) 16. Chemical and material storage and use (compatibility, containers, gas cylinders, smoking, fire extinguishers, PPE) 17. Discovery of unknown chemicals (leaking, sparks, down-wind, PPE, notify environmental)

18. Load/unload trucks with debris/sandbags (sprains/strains, slips/trips/falls) 19. Other potential hazards (cuts, heat stress, animal/insect bites, sprains/strains) D. Removal of Floodwaters from Structures and Initial Entry into Previously Flooded Areas 1. Structural instability (spaces checked by NAVFAC Structural Engineer, hard hats/ steel toe shoes) 2. Contact with downed lines and live electrical equipment and other utilities, e.g., gas, water (lines contacting other objects, notify NAVFAC) 3. Unsecured hazards in the work area (hard hats, steel toe shoes and gloves) 4. Falls from heights or through openings (use fall protection/qualified personnel, structural damage) 5. Confined spaces (space that normally not a confined space, decomposing organic matter, permit required) 6. Exposure to contaminated water and/or floodwaters (rubber boots & plastic gloves; practice personal hygiene) 7. Asbestos (check NAVFAC records, qualified workers, keep wet, notify environmental) 8.
