The owner of this donut shop wanted to create a visual experience rare to San Diego in his new downtown office location: a 2D café. As a high-profile client, a “media-ready” space for various on and off screen collaborations became a key element. As FSDG’s first hospitality project, we are spearheading the coordination between the building owner, tenant, kitchen designers, engineers, vendors, artists, and more to realize a culinary space that functions efficiently and feels like an immersive 2D experience. With an integrated AR mural, this space can continue to adapt and transform with changing desires of consumers. This project is nearly all custom, ranging from the design of donut display racks and hand-painted light fixtures to a PCU catwalk in the ceiling for operational success. This project is in construction.
