The first quarter of year 2023 has come to an end, and I am here to share my thoughts on how it has gone so far. It is inspiring to see that our members demonstrated good leadership skills, dedication, and effort in organising several impactful projects in this quarter, which not only resulted in success but also brought positive change to the community.
With my presidential theme for this year: L.O.V.E. Breakthrough. L.O.V.E. stands for Leverage, Opportunity, Volunterism, and Empowerment. These four pillars will guide us as we work towards our mission of creating positive change in our community.
As we embark on this journey together, let us remember that we are not just members of JCI Kota Kinabalu, but a community of like-minded individuals who share the same passion for personal and professional growth. Let us support and empower each other to reach our full potential, and let us work together towards a common goal of building a better future for ourselves and our community.
My vision for this term is to achieve breakthroughs in all aspects of our organization. This means breaking through our limitations breaking through our fears and doubts, and breaking through the success. I believe that with L.O.V.E. as ou things and make a significant impact in our c
I am confident that with your dedication and commitment, we can work together to create positive change and make a meaningful impact in the lives of those around us. Let us lead with integrity, seize every opportunity, and envision a better future for ourselves and our community. With LOVE, anything is possible. With LOVE, nothing is impossible to breakthrough.
Thank you for entrusting me with the honor of serving as your President, and I look forward to working with all of you to achieve our goals.
Dear readers,
Welcome to the 1st Issue of JCI Kota Kinabalu E-newsletter for year 2023 !
It is with great pleasure that we name our e-Newsletter to "L.O.V.E Breakthrough". This name not only represents our presidential theme for the year but it also serves as a reminder to everyone that these are the goals we are striving for, and that that we will continue to work together, inspire more young leaders, and spread positive energy in the community.
As the editor of this e-Newsletter, it is exciting for me to highlight and acknowledge all of the projects and events that our members have organised and attended over the last three months. Their dedication and exceptional leadership have also inspired me. I hope it sparks your interest in joining us on this journey, and let us continue contribute to making a positive impact in our communities.
In this edition, I have also invited our members to share with you their experiences as jaycee which I believe it will give you a glimpse of how JCI has transformed their lives and will enlighten your mind to think about life, society and leadership.
Last but not least, my sincere gratitude to the Board of Directors for their full cooperation in assisting me in compiling the information required for this eNewsletter.
Enjoy reading our 1st Issue of the year!

Can you introduce yourself to our readers and how long have you joined JCI?
Hello guys ✨ My name is Vicki. I’m born in the year of 2000 which normally people said that the year of thousands happiness. I’ve joined JCI since previous year 2022 September and until now days it’s around half year already. I’m very proud that I can serve as a Board of Director with the position of Honorary Treasurer in this year. The challenges I face this year is I need to transform myself to be like a sponge, so that I can absorb as much as I can in this very special and precious year to me
What is JCI mean to you?
At first before I joined JCI, I have a image of JCI is a NGO platform which have many people joined and discuss about what they contribute about business. However, after discover I realised JCI is a platform to encourage young
people to grow and learned in different sector. I’m glad that I have met a brunch of families which giving me chances to learned and to take up challenges in my way. JCI is a growing platform for me, which helps me to develop myself into a better person.
Which is your most memorable event in JCI? Why?
I can said it’s our JCI Kota Kinabalu 61st IAB. Because what I’ve study in my University is mostly about accounting and finance. Therefore, treasurer job sector seems easier for me compare to others. However I have taken up the challenge to be a Secretary in this event and the MC for the night. The stress and challenges I face in this event is the same level as the stress I faced inside my school life . However, things worked out well and I have gained many knowledge inside this event as well.
Can you introduce yourself to our readers and how long have you joined JCI?
“Leaders is about making others better as a result of your presence and making sure that impact lasts in your absence.” I would like to start with this quote before I introduce myself. Hi readers, I am Aldric. 30 years old. I have joined JCI since 2013 as approach by our 2013 JCI Kota Kinabalu President Vitalis and taken up the challenge to be the honorary chapter secretary, which I have no nothing experience in it. People said, “never try, never know” I join JCI is because I was and is inspired by my both parents who are JCI’s member. Been sleeping members for almost 7years and finally I am back for actions
Thanks to my 2023 JCI Kota Kinabalu President Benjamin challenge me to be his Vice President Internal a k a parents to the chapters
What is JCI mean to you?
JCI to me is a platform where we make an accidental mistakes and learn from it Besides that, it is also a platform where you will discover and explore yourself
where you wouldn’t knew that you have that inner talent in you. Did I ever fail before? Yes, of cause I did. How many times? Uncountable to be honest. One thing that caught me by surprise is that, self-development is so great that you don’t afraid of failing and stand back up again. JCI, not just creating future leaders. But instead, JCI is gathering all the leaders out there to create more opportunity and challenge other leaders to be far more greater than they are now.

Which is your most memorable event in JCI? Why?
One of the most memorable events that I cherish the most is JCI Kota Kinabalu 2023 Free Market. I was the project secretary, branding director, coordinator and you name it. But its not about the roles, responsibilities, and fame. It was the impact that I gave to the project which I did not even realise I was inspiring so many of my friends and family. That is why “Action speaks louder than words.” All I did was put my whole heart out for this project and LOVE to the committees that are in this project. I hope to all the readers would be inspired to be the inspiration others. Thank you and God bless. Love Breakthrough.
If you are interested in becoming one of the young active leaders, do come join us and explore more.
