National President's Me My dear JCI West Indies Family, We have successfully completed the first half of 2021, our year of transformation and unity. We have seen the tremendous impact that our local organisations are making even though we are still in a global pandemic. Our local organisations have truly showed how resilient JCI members are and I am so proud of each of you. I am cognizant of the fact that there’s no blue print to lead during a pandemic so I must commend all the National Councillors who do it so effortlessly. I am truly proud of each of you for continuing to excel in this role. I do understand that the continuous lockdown measures can have a negative effect on one’s mental health. JCI West Indies has implemented a Mental Health and Wellness Committee which falls under the stewardship of our Executive Assistant for JCI RISE – Mrs. Leisha Mc Farlane-Andrews. This committee shares positive tid-bits and have been compiling information about counselling services in each island and country throughout the West Indies to have it shared on our social media pages. We are cognizant of the importance of maintaining good mental health during this global pandemic. JCI West Indies continues to implement and execute projects in keeping with the JCI RISE initiative. We have seen mental health sessions, small business entrepreneur seminars and donations to communities who were severely affected by the ongoing pandemic. JCI West Indies is committed to ensuring that we have “One Future” as we develop leaders for our changing world. 1

essage JCI West Indies continues to shine on the International stage. At the JCI Conference of the America, our local organisations won awards, were in the top three (3) and received honorable mentions, congratulations to JCI Barbados, JCI Antigua, JCI Tobago and JCI Guyana. Let us all continue to excel in our projects and programs so that the JCI West Indies flag can keep flying high. For the latter part of 2021, JCI West Indies will see the execution of multiple projects that will continue to create impact in our communities. We will also have our 61st National Convention and I encourage all members to take part in this momentous event. We will be closing off this year – 2021 in true West Indian style, lots of vibes and high energy. Thank you to my hardworking Board Officers, National Councillors, Members and Partners of JCI West Indies, together we can make the world a better place. Thank you all once again for placing your trust in me to lead this organisation for this year. I am truly humbled and proud to be serving as your 61st National President. I will end with one of my favourite quotes; “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams Please stay safe my dear JCI West Indies Family, we will get through this together. One West Indies, Stronger Together. Yours in JCI, Deondra Wishart-Hope (Mrs.) National President JCI Senator #78983
