We celebrate military children throughout the world during

April!

April is set aside to honor the sacrifices and courage of the youngest members of our military community. Military children are born into a life of separation, deployments, repeated moves and in some cases parental injuries. They face all of these challenges with a strength and confidence far beyond their years. Military children face change head on and are some of the most adaptable and resilient people you will ever meet.

JBSA Purple Up Event

Saturday, April 1 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

All JBSA families are invited out to JBSA-Randolph's Heritage Park to join JBSA Child & Youth Programs in celebrating our amazing military youth. This great family event includes games, food, interactive inflatables, give aways, crafts, outdoor sports activities and lots of fun! LET’S PURPLE UP JBSA!

There are many ways you can celebrate throughout the month. However, one very visible way is by participating in “Purple Up for Military Kids” on Tuesday, April 14. Purple is the color used to represent all branches of service and communities throughout Texas will be wearing purple on this day as a way of showing thanks and support for military youth.

Sam Houston Community Center Purse Bingo

April 27 • 6 p.m.

Grab your friends and join us for a chance to win a designer purse by playing some exciting games of bingo. Refreshments will be provided, and adult beverages will be available for purchase. The cost is $40 per pack. This event is open to all adult DoD ID cardholders but there will be limited seating. Patrons may start making reservations April 4. Easter Egg Hunt

Arnold Hall Community Center

April 8 • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bring your pups and let them go wild in this exciting doggy edition of a classic Easter egg hunt. This is an event the whole family can enjoy while your pooch hunts for over 1,000 eggs. There will be photos with the Easter Bunny, a pup parade, vendors, concessions and more! All breeds are welcome. This event is free to attend but costs $5 per pet to participate in the egg hunt.
